Well, that sounds cool. I just hope Cobra Commander *looks* like the guy from the comic. I think they eventually did show him.

I always thought that a movie based on G.I. Joe would be good, but I would have opted for the Crimson Guard, and corporate espionage kind of an angle. That would have been better, I think. But it still would be cool.

Ok, I'm not saying that this is gonna suck, but does this contribute to the "Films with no originality so they either have to be something that was popular in the 80's or make a Part 2 of something else" bin? Because it just seems like thats were movies are going these days.

Again, I'm not hating, just wondering.

Up until very recently, 70s retro was "in", and a lot movies being made were based on TV series from the 1970s, like Charlie's Angels and Josie and the Pussycats. It's still sorta going on: the Starsky and Hutch movie will be out soon.

Nowadays, 80s retro is becoming more popular because people who grew up in the 1980s are adults now and willing to pay for things that remind them of their childhood. So it's only logical that we'll be seeing remakes of 1980s series. It wouldn't surprise me one bit if, in the next few years, we see a live-action movie based on the Transformers.

Transformers Movie

I'm a HUGE G.I.Joe fan and I hope they do this right. One of my own unrealistic dreams was to someday become a director and ...maybe....someday do my own live-action G.I.Joe film. Well, somebody beat me to it! :) Not like I was anywhere close to ever being a feature film director ha ha ha.

Anyways, I hope it comes across more like the Larry Hama written comic books. Which I prefered way more than the tv cartoons. Which I loved too, but the comic books from the 80's were way better.

And if any romance is in the film, it better be between Snake-Eyes and Scarlett like it should be (and originally meant to be). None of this Duke and Scarlett crap from the cartoon.

I pray Steven DeSouza comes no where near this production.

Me, I'm hoping for campy. I can deal with campy.

What I want to see is Howard the Duck 2!!! However, Lucas is too busy currently to greenlight that, so I'm stuck waiting.

Question: Who would make a good Scarlet? Milla Jovovich?
