Intelligence to attack and initiative is dangerous, Larry. I'm going for a John Q. Public PrC, that is one that can be used in any campaign, not our high-powered arms race of a game. I can see a nasty smack being built on that un' and it's a scary idea. A significant bonus to concentration is already packed into the Combat Casting feat. And I think that Wizard BaB would turn "Sword Mage" into "Knife Wizard" which seems to go against the grain of the class.

Thanks for putting up with me, Larry. I truly value your friendship.

Go and read mine at this time its right under this one. I gave my ideas for yours give me your for mine.

PS I run my games alot diffent than you. Other then mine are going to go agenst 20 Psy gardens.

Go back to 1/lvl spellcasting.

You dont list a HD but I'd go with d8.

Too few class skills, and I'd leave alchemy(you are a wiz after all). But why Tumble? Thats a really powerful skill. Take the WIZ list and add Jump, Climb, maybe Balance for the 'Acrobatic' stuff, but Tumble is too good to give as a class skill.

Never seen Mage Tactician, agree with Crothian to add Combat Casting, do away with the IC feat and I like Combat Reflexes as fitting the class. Maybe switch out the Conc/Splc for 10 ranks in Jump to go with the "jump attack" ability(isnt that a feat in S&F)

Contrary to what Crothian says the "sword casting" at 1st lvl is just a cool idea and isnt all that powerful.

Drop the Iajusuu thingy. Move the CannyD to 3rd, Make the Channel thing 1/day at 4th and 1 extra time a day for each additional 3 levels.

Compare to Arcane Trickster.

Trentonjoe, would you extrapolate on this cashing in of spells for ac?

Gee, I don't know, it was just an idea. <TrentonJoe stops being coy>

How about a feat and/or special ability that allows the character to cash in prepared spell levels for either:

1) A dodge bonus to AC
2) A <insert name here> bonus to hit or damge

The rate would be 1 "+" per spell level and the duration would be the spell level as well. For example, if Sally Sword Mage cashes in a 3rd level spell, she loses it for the day but she can take a +3 to bonus to AC, to hit, or damage rolls for 3 rounds.

I would suggest that these do not stack, it would be a standard action to "Cash in", and the bonus could not be changeable once set.

Also, I liked the sword casting as well. I'd put it back in there somewhere.

I wanted to go with a d4 hit dice; going for the "frail, but impossible to hit" deal.

TJ, I like that...

Maybe that should be the 10th level ability...

Hm, I like v. 3.0... here's what I'd add:

*add Still Spell as a prereq
*keep the even-levelled spell increases as is
*give 'em a d8 hp
*move Channel Touch to 7th level
*give 'em Swordcasting at 5th level
*give 'em the trade spells for attack, AC or saving throw bonus at 10th level; maybe call it something like Battle Dweomer (I love that word, dweomer)
*give 'em that int bonus to initiative thing at 9th level (good idea, las!)

Just my 2 cp's worth...

By the way, las- you have a lot of good ideas, don't take it harshly when people shoot them down in their first version. I know I've done that too, but I try to give constructive criticism when I do it. And who's flame boy?

By the way, you don't take turns flaming. You have to do it when people are flat-footed and they can't strike back for it to have maximum effect!
