There are lots of ways. One classic is to say to a fellow deity "my, what a lovely portfolio you have there...is that new? Wow, you keep it in excellent condition, mind if I look at it? I promise I'll give it back." Then when Pelor hands healing over to you, you grab it and run.

Well, perhaps I'll do it with branding... Mask engineers the most intricate subtle plot against Cyric... so sucessfully that people start thinking, "When I think intrigue, I think Mask." Or something of the like...

Well, at least they're epic level checks. With an epic level slight of hand check, you could probably steal the sun... of course, it's an opposed check, so maybe not.

However, the portfolios of deities can change if they die and are resurrected, another deity in their pantheon dies, they undergo radical character shifts (Cyric going insane), or they ascend or drop in divine stature....

Within a pantheon of deities, it is important to note that more than one deity may share identical portfolio items or even identical portfolios. However, in such cases, no more than one power can ascend in stature to a higher rank than demipower.
