Hi,
as my Waterdeep-Campaign is nearly over, my group decided to play a gothic horror themed campaign.
Now I want to stay in Faerun with this campaign and I have a few things you can help me with.
1) Where would you set this gothic horror campaign in faerun? I've thought about using the Land of Ustalav (from the Pathfinder AP Carrion Crown) as a map. Maybe just using this setting and adapt it (gods and so on) to D&D 5e?
2) What can you recommend as reading material? Of course the original Ravenloft adventure, I guess? What other publications are worth to look at? Is the Ustalav-Material from Paizo any good for adaption to Faerun?
3) Speaking of the original Ravenloft adventure: Would you buy the original "I6: Ravenloft" or the "Expedition the Castle Ravenloft" or both?
4) Any other things which could be useful for my gothic horror campaign?
As always I'm happy for every feedback and every idea.
Thank you very much
best regards
