So I got to thinking about the grappler feat, and I found myself bummed that in the errata it basically erases a third benefit to the feat without replacing it. Obviously that benefit should have been erased as it's not part of the grappling rules, but I still think they should have added something else to it, especially since grappling to restrain a creature is such a high risk, high reward scenario. Yes, I know a grappler can also shove a creature prone, but that requires an additional attack to do so. Anyways, here's a thoughts for a replacement to that third option in the grappler feat:
Option 1: Anytime you use your reaction to make an attack of opportunity, you can instead choose to attempt to grapple your opponent.
Option 2: You can attempt to grapple a creature two size categories larger than yourself. You must have both hands free in order to attempt such a grapple.
Anyone else have thoughts or suggestions?
