Dark Jezter

First Post
We're down to the final eight matches, and we ended up with some really good matches this time (we almost ended up with a Batman versus Superman showdown, but Odysseus beat Superman by a single vote). Have at it, folks! Voting closes Sunday night.

2. Batman (Batman comics, Batman movies) versus Odysseus (mythology)
3. Sherlock Holmes versus Gandalf the Grey
4. Captain James T. Kirk (Star Trek) versus The Hulk
5. Robin Hood (mythology, movies) versus King Arthur (mythology, various novels)
6. Luke Skywalker (Star Wars) versus Samwise Gamgee (Lord of the Rings)

Demiurge out.

1. Indiana Jones
2. Batman
3. Gandalf the Grey
4. Captain James T. Kirk
5. Robin Hood
6. Samwise Gamgee
7. Han Solo
8. Spider-Man

1. Indiana Jones (Indiana Jones movies)
2. Batman (Batman comics, Batman movies)
3. Sherlock Holmes
4. Captain James T. Kirk (Star Trek)
5. King Arthur (mythology, various novels)
6. Luke Skywalker (Star Wars)
7. Buffy Summers (Buffy the Vampire Slayer)
8. Spider-Man (comics, movies, TV shows)

1. Indiana Jones -- more resourceful and far more interesting
2. Batman -- love Odysseus no end, but Batty's got cool toys
3. Gandalf the Grey -- Argh! Very tough! Both are iconic. In the end, I will go with Gandalf, but bearly so. Holmes deserves a nod at least...
4. Captain James T. Kirk -- the green guy does nothing for me
5. King Arthur -- classic matchup and very tough! Ultimately, I go with the guy I have liked the longer.
6. Samwise Gamgee -- Wormy's still here? Huh. Sam, he did more with less
7. Buffy Summers -- not a huge Buffy fan, but she is more actively a hero
8. Spider-Man -- Bond is amusig, but Spidey feels more real...

1. Indiana Jones (Indiana Jones movies) - Just maybe someone can knock off Conan
2. Batman (Batman comics, Batman movies) - Batman is cooler
3. Gandalf the Grey - As is Gandalf
4. Captain James T. Kirk (Star Trek) - And the Hulk should have been gone long ago
5. King Arthur (mythology, various novels) - Arghh. No choice but to vote for a myth/folklore figure
6. Samwise Gamgee (Lord of the Rings) - Sam's more heroic
7. Buffy Summers (Buffy the Vampire Slayer) - As is the Slayer
8. Spider-Man (comics, movies, TV shows) - And Spidey, too

Just because this is my contest dosen't mean I can't vote. :)

1. Conan the Cimmerian (Robert Howard's novels, Conan movies): Very tough choice for me, especially since I nominated them both. Conan wins by a nose.
2. Batman (Batman comics, Batman movies): It's all about the Dark Knight.
3. Gandalf the Grey: Tough call, but I go with Gandalf.
4. Captain James T. Kirk (Star Trek): "Hulk Smash!" just can't beat "KHAAAAN! KHAAAAN!" :)
5. Robin Hood (mythology, movies): I've never been a real big fan of the Arthurian legend, but the tale of Robin Hood has been one I've liked since I was just a kid.
6. Luke Skywalker (Star Wars): Another toughie. Both have humble roots, both managed to resist the lure of evil, and both played key roles in bringing down their respective evil overlords. In the end, though, I go with Luke.
7. Han Solo (Star Wars): This one wasn't even close for me. Hella cool smuggler with an awesome ship versus an overrated Joss Whedon character.
8. James Bond (movies, Ian Fleming's stories): Spidey's cool, but Bond is frickin' James Bond!
