Great Weapon Fighter - underpowered??

So far the Greatweapon fighter in our group is performing fine. She even uses the 'inferior' greatsword. She hits often, hits hard, and attracts hits in return. There is a bit of a striker element to her, she does damage exceeded only by the strikers. In KotSF, she and the Rogue killed IronTooth prettymuch by themselves. She did around 50, the Rogue around 60, our Wiz tossed in a magic missle somewhere along the line, and my warlord tagged him for a staggering 6 points of damage (plus setting up the rogue to flank again in the last round). Even with Combeback Strike, though, she did not have the staying power of an S&B fighter, and did drop in the last round (she was right back up again after we finished Irontooth off). That was a long, tough fight, though: our DM added a number of enemies to it, they came in two waves, and, even with two leaders, we were down to making healing checks to activate second winds by the end.

Just like most things, you have to use your feats and powers to make the most out of THW. Use power attack and powers like reaping strike, use fighter stances like the one that deals 1[w] to anyone who starts their turn near you....use charging more frequently as THW don't need powers to augment their damage as much.
