Re

Grumbar is probably going to die and die quick. His best shot is to use haste to move in, attack once, and then move out, at least the dragon will only get one attack per round. If he has stoneskin on, and is buffed up well, he should survive for a while.

Grumbar will probably just rush in and die though...(

Your house-ruled Harm is still pretty good. I'd think about using that instead of destruction. Unless the dragon rolls a 1, then destruction will do 10d6 (35), while Harm would do 140. Of course, both have to breach the SR.

To use Antilife Field and Harm together without finding some way to give Harm a range, cast Righteous Might. The reach gained from size gives you a 25ft diameter threatened area, essentially, so you should be able to reach outside the 20ft diameter Anti-life field without forcing it on the dragon.

Thats the Wizards site fix but it hasn't been approved by the DM yet.

Since I'm undead and die at 0 hps I usually keep my Harm spells mem'd to heal myself. I hadn't planned on engaging unless I had too. Even then it will be hard enough to get the anti-life shell off as it is (1 rnd cast). That would be a last case scenario.
I may just rely on my Death Touch ability if its going to be that close.

You forgot about the dragon's reach. Moving would just expose Grumbar to more attacks instead of just one. I agree, though, that haste would be a good option for Grumbar, he should use his partial actions to drink them potions of heal...
