Also, the officia release date is the 31st, but ‘Preview’ screenings that count towards opening weekend will start on the 30th (maybe sooner) but the earliest any real numbers will be out for that would be Friday morn.

Good questions! For the purpose of this contest, the "opening weekend results" will be as reported by Box Office Mojo (for example, Domestic 2000 Weekend 49). I think they report only the Domestic earnings, and they include preview screenings as well as the "official" opening weekend.
