Twice within a week I've been pulled over by the police for the same reason. THEY had a problem reading my license plate. The first one claimed when he ran the plates it came back as a car of a different color; white not red, the actual color. The second cop claimed he thought it was expired, but noticed it was good so I was "free to go". It sounds like they're giving permission to leave. I hate it so much. The fact they can run your plates because they are bored and have nothing better to do is infuriating. The same plate has been on the car for YEARS. I've been followed and pulled over, literally countless times. It's never been an issue until the last few days.

I've thought about doing this. I want to ask a cop when they pull me over for a card. Many of them have them. I want to start a collection. I should have started it years ago. Out of all the times I've only gotten a citation once. Dozens of times in the last 5 years. ONE ticket.

I could be an asset to them. I drive the same route every night 7/365. I could be an extra set of eyes. I could notice when something or someone is out of place. I'm just as suspect as everyone else. I'm a criminal waiting to crime.

If you've never been to Atlanta this is a nice little tour. It's really informative.

My family and I always lived on the north side. My paternal grandparents lived on the south side in Clayton county. We always took I-75 N/S unless we had to take 285 for some reason. 285 is not for bypassing Atlanta. Go straight through on 75/85. 285 is for reaching the other areas in the metro.

I did make the trip around the perimeter once. Drove the whole thing.

My only visits to Atlanta were passing through to other destinations. And unfortunately, the last time was in 2005 or so, when landed from an international flight only to get trapped in the terminal overnight because of serious thunderstorms grounding my connecting flight.

By the time I got home to D/FW early the next day, I’d been wearing the same clothes for 36 hours (yes, without bathing nor benefit of fresh deodorants, mouthwash or toothpaste), had run around to various terminals chasing departing flights that ALSO got cancelled, had slept overnight on the terminal floor sans blanket or pillows, and was both grumpy AND apologetic to my fellow passengers who had to sit next to me on that last leg of my journey.

I don’t think I’m CONCIOUSLY avoiding the ATL, but…subconsciously? 🤷🏾‍♂️

I think you should come one day when you have time to see the sights. We don't have SXSW or the like but we have music festivals. DragonCon should be a Mecca type trip for everyone. Stone Mountain may be problematic but it's a sight to see. If nothing else just marvel at this gargantuan piece of gravel just sitting there. It seems so out of place.
An open invitation to one and all. Anyone coming to the Atlanta area I'd be happy to act as tour guide.

I’ve heard Jazzfest (?) is pretty epic. Perhaps one day…

Looks like it took place in May this year. The next music festival is One Musicfest

Dragon Con is always on Labor Day weekend.
