Have You Used The X Card Or Seen It Used In Person?

No X cards, but I had a few instances were I had to act as if:
  • Severe arachnophobia, remove the spider miniature from the table.
  • Unwarranted sexual behaviour towards the character of a female player, even though she specifically banned it at the start of the campaign.
  • Weird sexual jokes: Cleric "I touch his penis and heal him."
  • One attempt to rape a peasant woman front of the other players, two of which were female players.

I'm sure there were a few others instances, 45 years is a long time.
I believe you. I am not denying your experience.

But even when we were 14 year old boys we did not engage in that BS. WTaF?

The majority of these would be an immediate boot, x card or no, if I was running.

No but I realize how biased my sample is.

I play with friends and at least one of their wives…other times it’s my kids including my daughters.

Bottom line is I include tropes of fantasy…excluding rape and such.

We kill monsters/villains, rescue people and banish evils spirits and the like. In my world
If those things call for x-card, you probably are not wanting to play D&D

I've had it present on the table at con games that I've played in available for use, but I've not seen it actually used live. The one game where I thought there was a better than average chance of it coming up had a really conscientious GM who worked with us to identify no-go zones up front, so it didn't come up.
Out of curiosity, what was the system, and/or theme, that prompted the GM to be proactive in this way?

I have used it myself, and it's been part of nearly every session I run for several years now. No-one's ever used it mid-play, but having it, and the conversations about it and about making games safe and welcoming has helped others come forth with issues during and between sessions. Perhaps oddly, sex and sexuality is not the most common issue. So far, the most common issue is spiders.

When I DM for my friends, we all know the boundaries. If ever some problems would arise, I think they would tell me upfront.

When I DM for the public association in open one shot tables, I always present the X Card (no player needed to use it).

Once, during an adventure league, player, I wish I could've used one... the play was getting me unconfortable.

It was Apocalypse World. The game was pitched in the con program as an adults-only game (a hard R, to use the MPAA ratings system as a metaphor), and I had some misgivings about it beforehand, just based on that pitch and that we were all going to be strangers. The GM really did a great job creating a safe space for us to play, and it ended up being my one of my favorite sessions at the con.
