Healing Feats

First Post
I'm building a character for a campaign, and I'm looking for ways to boost the CL of my cure spells.

Some background: I'm a lvl2 warlock/lvl3 Healer (miniatures handbook)/lvl1 Eldritch Theurge. I know I'll be taking Touch of Healing (+1 caster level and out of combat healing), Practiced Spellcaster (to bring me up to CL 6), and Augment Healing (for this build? Duh). I'm playing a human though, so I need one more feat to help my overall healiness. Something to prop up my caster level more would be greatly appreciated. Anyone have any suggestions?

Other than the fact that you don't qualify for eldritch theurge?

Able to cast 2nd level arcane spells (healer casts divine spells)

Warlock does not cast spells but can meet the prequisite for specific spells (via choosing the correct invocation)

Able to cast a +2d6 eldritch blast (requires 3rd level warlock to do that)

Or did you mean eldritch disciple? Which you still can't qualify for since it takes the ability to turn (or rebuke) undead - neither the warlock nor healer class gets that ability.

ack, I meant disciple, and the DM is dropping the turning requirement, due to the relative suck of the healer class.

So, back to the ORIGINAL question, any suggestions to make me more healy?

hmmm, not a bad idea. I have some ranged healing from the entire "positive energy eldritch blast" thingy that warlocks get, but it certainly needs some buffing. I'm just wary of metamagic, since I'm so short on higher level spell slots as it is...

Too bad the class doesn't have turn attempts.

There are some divine feats that would have worked well (maybe you can get the DM to say you have turn attempts like a cleric only usable for divine feats - since he waived the prerequisite before):

Complete Divine:
Sacred Boost
Sacred Healing
Divine Ward (PHB II)
Sacred Purification (PHB II)

Non-divine:

Spontaneous Healer (CD) might be good to have

I'll take a look at those. It may well be possible to talk him into the turn thing, if only because he's been looking at ways to make the class mesh better with the power level of the rest of the group. Personally, I think he's worried without reason, but I'm more than willing to let him buff me if he feels the need.

Don't forget that skill trick from Complete Scoundrel that boosts Heal attempts for stabilizing.

Practised Spellcaster is the feat that will increase your caster level for healing. Sadly it won't give you better or more spells.

You could take Draconic Aura from Dragon Magic and pick the fast healing aura. If you also get the feat Dragontouched the fast healing bonus will improve as you go up levels.

It is a little redundant with your Touch of Healing feat but it does not take an action to use and it can heal a lot more people at once.

I am sure you know but if you were a cleric you could get the Healing Domain and the feat Imbued Healing. That would allow you to heal someone and give them temporary hit points.

Editing in. I found a couple more options. If you can get spells added to the Healers list then you can take Incarnum Spellshaping. From there the spells Adept Spirit and Incarnum Vigor are along the lines of what you are going for.

Another option in the book is taking the Shape Soulmeld feat to get Therapeutic Mantle. With that whenever you are the target of a spell that heals it heals extra and with its wording it looks like if you are the target of a mass curing spell then everyone would get the extra benefit. If you also take the feats Bonus Essentia and Open Lesser Chakra, or use the spell in place of the second feat, which will give you a +3 insight bonus to all spells you cast spells of the healing subschool. With the three feats, or two feats and the spell, a mass healing spell that targets you and others would have its normal effects with the +3 caster level and an additional bonus to the healing of 6 plus the spells level.

The Draconic Aura feat allows you to select an aura from the list in Dragon Magic. The Vigor aura (the one that grants fast healing) isn't on that list.
