Help me Min/Max a FR Cleric

In that case, RogueJK, might I suggest taking item creation feats ?

That's what I did (see my character above).

You can make most of these items with craft wondrous items. No more waiting after stingy DMs. :)

Back to stats:

Stats:
16 14 14 12 12 9
I've got 10 attribute points to use in order to bump some of these up (3 from levels and 7 from a special type of stat-rolling method)

May I sugest pure cleric with:

S 14
D 14
Co 12
I 9
W 26
Ch 12

As a pure cleric you've got 8th level spells - which lets you have at least one 4th level spell up all the time (persistant spell) and a few others, depending on how mnay high level slots you give up for this. This could seriously buff your character for fighting.

A 26 wisdom gives you 2 bonus spells of level 1 though 4 AND 1 for levels 5 through 8.

With a 26 Wisdom, your spell DCs will be high (19 for 1st level spells).

Plus you are a spellcasting prodigy to boot!

Wow!

My Cleric14/Contemplative1 casts spells as a 15th level cleric. The Contemplative gives full spell progression. Plus, it grants me access to a prestige domain, and it fits with my character concept. And yeah, it looks like I'll be getting a lot of mileage out of Extend Spell and Persistent Spell. So much so, in fact, that I seem to be running out of 5th level slots. 5th level just happens to be where most of my metamagicked buffing spells fall. I even considered taking Extra Slot to help with this, but I couldn't spare the feat. I may just end up Extending some of the regular 5th level spells that I need so that they take up a 6th level slot instead.

I'm creating a 15th level character for a Forgotten Realms campaign, and I need your help. He needs to be a good melee fighter, but not lacking in spellcasting.

My concept:
Human Paladin (level 1), Cleric (level 14) of Azuth
Domains: Spell & Magic (good versatility, get your Haste spell from Greater Anyspell)
Str: 14+5=19
Dex:12
Con:12+2=14
Int: 9+1=10
Wis:16
Cha:14+2=16

Feats: Spellcasting Prodigy, Power Attack, Divine Power, Extend Spell, Persistent Spell, Weapon Focus: Longsword, Improved Critical Longsword

Every day cast the following spells:
Extended Duration - Bull's Strength, Endurance, Eageles Spleandor, Greater Magic Weapon & Magic Vestment on both Shield and Armor
Persistent Spell - Divine Favor (+4 attack and damage)

Average HP= 93 (+ 15 or 30 from Endurance Spell)
AC Plate & buckler (use a bucker as its easier to stitch between spell casting and meleeing) w/ Magic Vestment Spells= 28
(next level you AC will go up two more as the Magic Vestment spell will improve)

To Hit w/ Longsword = +24/+19/+14 (+1-3 from Bull's Strength)
(assuming Gr. Magic Weapon and Dvine Favor)

Damage= 1d8+12 (+1-3 from Bull's Strength)
(and if you use the Divine Power Feat another +4-5 damage)
if lucky w/ Bull's Stength and Eagles Spelandor spells:
1d8+20 damage, w/ cirticalling on a 17+ (better w/ a Keen Longsword)

Saving Throws:
Fort: +11 base + 1-2 from endurance spell + 4-5 from divine grace and eages spleandor (Total = +16 to +18)
Reflex: +4 base + 4-5 from divine grace & eagle's spelandor
(Total= +8 to +9) (you might want to get the feat lighting reflexes, but I don't know what you might want to drop)
Will: +9 base + 4-5 from divine grace (Total +13 to +14)
add another 1-2 with and extended duration Owl's Wisdom

All the spell last the whole day:
It cost you 3 3rd level, 2 4th level, and 2 5th level slots...you still have a lot of spells left.

Not bad considering you can do this w/ out any magic items.

What do you think?

Those are some great ideas, but not really what I'm looking for. I'd rather have 8th level spells, and the level of Paladin would delay that until 16th level. Also, that 15th level of Cleric is really crucial to many of the buffing spells, such as GMW and Magic Vestment. It means the difference between a +4 and a +5.

With only an effective 18 in Wisdom, I won't have as many bonus spells, and the DCs of my spells will be lower. I can't justify lowering my Constitution and Wisdom that much in order to raise my Charisma. Plus, with a 16 in Con, I have more HPs than your Paladin/Cleric.

Yes, my saves won't be as good, but I'm willing to live with that. Divine Agility will help with my reflex saves, and Endurance and Owl's Wisdom will boost my Fort. and Will.

Also, your character's spells will be easier to dispel, and you'll have a harder time getting through SR. Since we tend to fight a lot of monsters with SR, that's a major issue for me.

Thanks, though.

Everyone has thier own ideas of what they want...A lot depends upon how much undead you fight in the campaign as well (a good charisma really makes a difference), and by the time you've invested in the high charisma, taking advantage of it w/ both the Divine Power Feat, and the level of Paladin (for the divine grace) make a lot of sence...if you feel you don't need the charisma stat, then it makes little sence to do both of these.

I've played a cleric similar to the one I made in the last post, and I've found that I usually leave dealing direct damage w/ spell to the Druid and the Mage in the group, I use my magic to buff the party and to heal...thus SR rarely comes into play...I basically fight like a fighter until I need to heal someone, do that and then continue fighting...it works out pretty well, since most healing spells are touch, and most of those who need them are the front line fighters.

Well have fun and let us know your final character and how it turned out.

I may have missed it, but do the following

Persistant spell (4 slot higher, spell last 24 hours) and divine power... Fighter BAB, all day long!

Also, don't underestimate power attack as a fighting feat...

Essential Magic Items

Two essential magic items every high level cleric should have:

1. Karmic Bead. Adds 4 to your caster level for 10 minutes/day. This makes your buffs better, last logner, and harder to dispel.
A bargain at 5,000 gp (I have 3!)

2. Ring of Counterspell with Greater Dispelling. Clerics are so buffed you've gotta prevent bad guys from dispelling your buffs.
