D&D 5E (2024) Here's The Covers of BOTH of November's Forgotten Realms Books

Covers of Forgotten Realms: Heroes of Faerun and Forgotten Realms: Adventures in Faerun.
We've known for some time that in November, WotC will be releasing not one but two Forgotten Realms books--one aimed at players, the other at Dungeon Masters. Thanks to Game Informer, we now have a look at the covers of Forgotten Realms: Heroes of Faerun and Forgotten Realms: Adventures in Faerun. The article showcases more art, and is well worth checking out--and for those who want more, the print magazine has a full feature previewing the books.

So who are all the heroes? I see Jarlaxle, Minsc and Karlach, who is the blue eyed wizard and the blonde Elf with long fingernails?

I also love how Jarlaxle has come full circle and is now a "heroe"

Vajra Safahr, who has served as the Blackstaff in Waterdeep since the late 4e era. She's also on the new MM cover with Minsc.

EDIT: Apparently she made her debut in the 2008 novel, Blackstaff Tower, which also featured Renaer Neverember and Meloon Wardragon (Renaer is a major NPC in Waterdeep: Dragon Heist, while Meloon has a bit part. Vajra's 5e stats are also in that adventure.)
Interesting. Jarlaxle was also in Dragon Heist, and had a cameo in BG2, so he knows Minsc. Minsc and Karlach meet in BG3. So all those characters do know each other.

Glad people are liking these covers! I think I'm getting out of touch with the art direction of dnd:(

I'm absolutely not in the 'everything must be grim and violent all the time'-camp, but this just looks like some kind of shallow app store game to me... Have to see it for real though; wouldn't be the first time that an illustration actually looks better in print.

First ones awful, wife didn't like it either. Both think second one is better.

I'll be looking for alt art if they make them 5.5 art direction is kinda bad. Managed alt art core books but yeah.
