D&D 5E (2024) Here's The Covers of BOTH of November's Forgotten Realms Books

Covers of Forgotten Realms: Heroes of Faerun and Forgotten Realms: Adventures in Faerun.
We've known for some time that in November, WotC will be releasing not one but two Forgotten Realms books--one aimed at players, the other at Dungeon Masters. Thanks to Game Informer, we now have a look at the covers of Forgotten Realms: Heroes of Faerun and Forgotten Realms: Adventures in Faerun. The article showcases more art, and is well worth checking out--and for those who want more, the print magazine has a full feature previewing the books.

I'm decidedly ambivalent to the covers. But I've felt that way about most D&D book covers since 1987.

I'm more curious about the content and how they're going to portray Calimshan and how it will differ from the previous portrayal and if they going to make other "adjustments" to the setting.

I was not really thrilled by most of the standard covers for the 5.0 books. There were lots of dull muted color palettes, too many figures cloaked in darkness, and sketchy brushwork that gave a “soft focus” effect that I usually dislike. I usually prefer bright saturated colors and crisp detail.

These newer covers mostly look OK to me. I bought the new 5.5 DM screen back in November because I liked the art and because Miniature Market was selling it for almost 50% off during a holiday sale. I actually like both of the Dragon Delves covers and have not decided which one I will get. I may skip these two books though, for the same reason I skipped Sword Coast, Acquisitions Inc, and the Critical Role books. I have never really been a big fan of the Forgotten Realms setting and I am not sure how much of this material will be useful outside of that setting. Maybe I can look at the new spells and such on D&D Beyond or the wikis.

The fact that they put the meat of new information behind a paywall wall that is only accessible in the US is infuriating and a complete fail by WotC of epic proportions.
What paywall are you talking about? I clicked on the link in the OP and went right to the article. I don't have a subscription to Game Informer,* so no paywall I can see - or are you talking about something else?

*This wouldn't be a WotC paywall if it was a paywall anyway.

Non-rhetorical question for anyone who doesn't like these covers: What would you prefer to be on the cover of a Forgotten Realms product?

I'm genuinely curious.
Dragons, always more dragons.

IDK, maybe a map of FR or similar landscape overview for the Adventures book. Focus on the setting not the characters. For the player's guide it is a little to cartoony for my taste, but I don't find it offensive or anything. It wouldn't stop me from buying it, it just doesn't encourage my to buy it.
