I’ve played a warlock that had no other concentration spells. Hex was his only combat spell, not counting at-will mage armor and cantrips.And not use any concentration spells for the rest of the day?
I have it as just once, not every beam.Hex is not terrible. It is exactly the same spell, with the limit of the extra damage applying once per turn. This was an essential fix, because of the multiple beams of Eldritch Blast. The correction was long overdue. Adding the extra damage to one of those beams makes sense. Adding it to all of them was broken.

I was going to make my variant warlock revolve around a curse mechanic, and that’s basically what I’d do.I kept that part.
Scaling to give someone a permanent curse.
And possibly invocations to make it worse.
