D&D 4E Hey everyone! If you're tired of 4e threads cluttering the forum...

So ... did you all see the new 4.5e thread that someone created in the main forum?

...

...

Okay, not really. :p

However, I must admit that I don't mind people talking about 4e. Heck, 4e is imaginary so far until it is actually declared a possibility by WotC. But then again .. how much of this entire website is about imagarinary topics? You know, like ... oh, I dunno ...RPGs? :D

I don't participate in the 4e threads, but I don't mind them existing around me. It's just someone else's fantasy. And technically, it's still someone else's fantasy even when it becomes official! It won't be my fantasy ... but that's okay, too. I'll still have my 3.5 fantasy!

Um....OK

Yeah, it's like Alan Moore said about those Superman comics where he married Lois, turned out to be his own grandfather, etc.--they were labled "imaginary tales." As if, Moore, stated, all Superman tales aren't imaginary.

With all due respect, Pirate Cat, and seriously, do you mean no more 4E speculation posts, or no more "No more 4E posts, pleeeeeeze!"?

I can't see eliminating 4E speculation posts, especially since most of the more recent are serious discussions of 3E mechanics, strengths, weaknesses, tweaks, etc.

And if someone doesn't want to read a 4E post, they don't have to.

Plus, if people didn't want to talk about 4E, the list wouldn't be "cluttered" with them--although I think the term "cluttered" indicates a bias on your part toward what lots of people are apparently wanting to talk about these days.

Best.

...the thing to do is NOT to create more threads bitching about it that clutter the forum even more! I just deleted one, in fact. We're not going to create a 4e sub-forum right now. We expect that such threads will die down after the upcoming D&D Experience, unless 4e is actually announced (which doesn't sound too likely.) When 4e is announced, we'll decide what to do then.

I do, however, invite you to complain about it in this sticky thread for the next few days. Azgulor, that means you! :D

I understand. However, I still think "Do 4E threads make you want to vomit?" would've made a hell of a thread title! :D

(I'll get over the fact that my first poll was squashed it the same fell swoop! )

This is the key point

People considering things that they'd like to see in 4e, their hopes and fears etc is fine. There is a category tag for it, if it doesn't interest anyone it is easy to avoid looking into it. If lots of people don't post it falls by the wayside and off the front page.
