Hit Me Baby, One More Time...

Ok, so I'm a little embarassed to admit that I was interested in this show...but I missed it. Anybody watch it? Was it any good? Could they still perform? Did they perform their classic hits or new stuff?

That's enough questions for now...I'll return to hiding in shame.

I watched it... *hangs head*...

Performers were Loverboy, CeCe Peniston, Arrested Development, A Flock of Seagulls, Tiffany (I think that was it). The performers each did one (or their only) hit, then came back and did a cover of a current pop hit. The audience voted on who they liked best, and that artist or group got $20 thousand dollars for their favorite charity.

A Flock of Seagulls were the most changed in their appearance by a long shot.

Oh, cool! I would've watched that, actually, and not been ashamed! I saw A Flock of Seagulls in concert about six or seven years ago. They've still got it.

What was Loverboy's one hit? It seems they, at least, had more than one that could have passed muster.

They had several hits, starting in 1981 with "Turn Me Loose". But the one they did was "Working for the Weekend". Not one of their best, IMHO. I really thought they did the best performance out of the whole night, though.

That's probably the one I would have expected. But I still can't hear it without thinking of Chris Farley at a Chippendales audition. Ouch!

I barely recognize Tiffany without her clothes off and the "Playboy" title above her head. :p

I still prefer Debbie Gibson though. Here's hoping she'll perform on the show soon.

Haven't seen Loverboys and A Flock of Seagulls for such a long time, I was shocked to see them now.

Funny, she didn't mention that tidbit during her "what I've been up to" interview.

You've gotta go rent this movie then. Also has the famous Matt Foley; motivational speaker routine.

Y'know...I'm just not a Chris Farley fan, so I'll probably pass on it. Heck, since the early 80's, I bet I've watched SNL maybe 5 times. The crop of comedians to come out of SNL in the last 15 years or so, with a few exceptions, just aren't funny to me.

...gettin' old, I guess.
