Ahh BrisVegas ... all the delights of large numbers of cockroaches, 99% humidity for January and February, weather forecasts which refuse to admit that it rains ... 'the occassional shower' = 'will rain continuously all day', very cold mornings in winter (the benefits of being an inland rather than a coastal city), a brown river upon which floats the most hideous party barge complete with fake palm tree (presume it is still there) ... all of which are balanced somewhat by the excitements of having dragons living in your backyard. :p

You've visited, I see :)

On the upside - Rain = more time to spend inside gaming, the brown river is slightly less brown and sans palm-tree barge (although the gold coast is now doing a fine line in mobile phone towers disguised as palm trees), the presence of cockroaches is balanced out by the much lower incidence of rat infestation, cold mornings are all the more reason to stay hidden toasty warm beneath a doona (and its still warmer than the winter I spent in Sydney) and there are still dragons in the backyard :D

Done more than visit ... I've lived (sort of) in Cooparoo (think that's the way it's spelt). My father lived in BrisVegas, whilst my mum lived in Sydney so I did the spending holidays in Brisbane and term time in Sydney thing.

Who won the song writing contest? :)

Everyone who entered. I didn't feel like picking a best as they were all good, so I declared everyone a winner and everyone gets a book or two as a prize.

Very nice, indeed! :)

Incidently Mark, about you're contest - I'm at Capellan's for another two or three weeks, so I can't download stuff until I head back home and hook my computer up to the net. Is it cool if I get in contact with you then?
