Can you use the attack of opportunity against a charge attack given by the Hold the Line feat to Set Against Charge with a trident or spear?

No you can't. You can only Ready Standard Actions. An AoO is NOT a Standard Action. It is defined as "a single melee attack". Otherwise you could cast spells as an AoO and do whole slew of other things as well...

As I read the Readying description, no, but you get both the AoO and the readied attack against the charge. Though I'm not sure which occurs first.

The answer is no. But it is really more of six of one, half dozen of the other than a net detriment.

The main advantage of readying against the charge is the double damage. If you are giving up an AoO to get double damage on a single later attack, that is rarely to your net benefit except in corner cases.

I would allow the character being charged to choose. Both the AoO and the Ready action "interrupt" the attacker; there is no right or wrong answer on which counterattack occurs first.

Yeah, but if you Ready an action, and Ready your Spear against a charge, then you use Hold the Line... When the Ready goes off, you hit them and stop them (via Hold the Line) before they get a chance to provoke the AoO, because they get stopped before they pass through your threat range.

Set against a charge with a readied action: 1 Attack (double damage, when foe first enters a square they threaten)

Hold the Line: 1st AoO (which goes off just after your readied action once your foe has entered the space where you threaten)

If using a Reach Weapon: 2nd AoO (when foe moves through threatened square to complete their charge)

I'm pretty sure you're never allowed more than one AoO against a single opponent in a round.
