Holy Crap, I didn't do a *damn* thing today!

Mystery Man

First Post
15 minutes before leaving I'm thinking what did I do today?

Nothing. Nada. I surfed a bit, listened to some music. Ate. I got up out of my chair every now and then for a bathroom break and a drink of water. That's it. NO work! Nothing productive from the time I walked in to now. Eight hours..well...9 hours of just complete and utter slacking off. It's actually shocking the amount of absolutely nothing I did today. I might as well not have even come in!

Geesh!

Bob Slydell: You see, what we're trying to do is get a feeling for how people spend their time at work so if you would, would you walk us through a typical day, for you?
Peter Gibbons: Yeah.
Bob Slydell: Great.
Peter Gibbons: Well, I generally come in at least fifteen minutes late, ah, I use the side door - that way Lumbergh can't see me, heh - after that I sorta space out for an hour.
Bob Porter: Da-uh? Space out?
Peter Gibbons: Yeah, I just stare at my desk, but it looks like I'm working. I do that for probably another hour after lunch too, I'd say in a given week I probably only do about fifteen minutes of real, actual, work.
Great movie, that.

As sad as it sounds, that has been my typical day at work since January, more or less.

But I at least try to make it somewhat productive by working on homework for my Master's degree. Today was no exception. I got one work related email, which wasn't specifically addressed to me, that I ignored.

And yes, I am looking for a new job.

Sounds familiar, I have done exactly nothing today. I have been programming 10 hours a day, 7 days a week, for 4 weeks straight though, so I think I deserve it! :)
