How Come Every Cop Show Feartures a Chaotic Aligned Character?

In America, you'd never make a movie about a heroic empire trying to preserve the peace in the face of a rag-tag rabble of revolutionary terrorists bent on destroying society.
Nah, just label the rag-tag rabble "terrorists" and you'll cover a wide swath of American films.

Could you name a few for me? In particular, name one where the real enemy isn't a rogue element of our own government. Bonus points if the terrorists don't have a german accent.

"Due South" is a cop show about a lawful cop. Of course, much of the entertainment value lies in the conflicts between Fraser's lawful conduct and the chaotic nature of his partner and his surroundings.

If you haven't seen it yet, check out Hot Fuzz. The main character Nick Angel is my new mental iconic for what a paladin is like.

Actually, I'd say the cops of Hot Fuzz definitely display the entire entire LG vs. NG vs. CG split. Angel IS a prototypical paladin-like LG, while Danny is fairly certainly a CG slacker type, though possibly an NG. (Who watches tons of films about "Bad boy cops who don't play by the rules!", incidentally...) The other cops are definitely CG... (though still funny.)

When my boyfriend and I saw Hot Fuzz, we couldn't help but be amused by the fact that we were basically watching his D&D character on screen.

LG cult-busting-paperwork-loving-toothpick-chewing cop sent to middle-of-nowhere.

The show that the OP is talking about is called "K-Ville." Does anyone know what that means? We even asked someone who's from New Orleans and she had no clue. It's bugging us.

True Lies.
Die Hard.
Many James Bond films.

I'd give you more, but I suck at movie names.

From IMDb:
The title comes from some actual graffiti that was spray painted on a wall in New Orleans in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina. It said "Welcome to K-Ville".
I guess the "K" stands for Katrina.
