D&D 5E How do 1st level characters get their Hit Dice back?

You get half your total back at a rest so that's 0.5 hit dice but the standard rule is to round down. So that's zero? It doesn't state 'minimum of 1' anywhere, so how do 1st level characters with only a single hit dice get them back? Am I missing something or is this just an oversight in the rules as written?

I'm going to assume it's an oversight and say minimum of 1.

Since all 1st level characters have maximum HP for their die I plan on using 50% per long rest. So a 1st level fighter gets a "5" back and 1st level wizard gets a "3" back, etc.

So when a 1st level character spends a HD, they get back exactly half value.

This is one place where the playtest explicitly stated you round up instead of rounding down, isn't it? I was surprised to see that wording disappear. We still round up here.
