Folks who want floating and folks who want none both don’t want fixed ASIs.
This is a worthless category, because those who want fixed and those who want none, both don't want floating. And those who want fixed, and those who want floating, both don't want none. It's a pure wash.

If you're playing with point buy, no ASIs is effectively the same as floating ASIs. This survey doesn't tell us anything about that though, so we only know how many are against fixed ASI.
Point buy is optional and cannot be assumed. And how is point buy + floating ASI the same as point buy with no ASI? Point buy doesn't change if you don't have ASIs. You still get the same number of points. A floating ASI can't be the same as no ASI.

People (myself included) have specifically said they want no ASIs but increased point buy/array and more generous method for rolling stats instead.

The assumption, based on the comments, is that we're talking about a 5.5e or 6e here. If you design the system for point buy and no ASIs, then you're just choosing your ability scores based on points without having a min/max situation based on racial math. If you design the system for point buy with floating ASIs, then you're still just choosing your ability scores based on points without having a min/max situation based on racial math.

It's still not the same as a floating +2, +1, because you don't have to buy a 17 and a 15. You can buy more than 3 points if you keep your stats to 15 or less, or one 16 and the rest lower.

Regardless, you still have 2/3 for each category. Fixed, floating and none. You can't assume point buy is going to handle this in the next edition. It's not even a default method. The defaults are rolling and arrays, both of which need either fixed and/or floating bonuses.

Effectively the exact same as floating but with the points in the point buy instead of added on the end as an extraneous step. So, not really distinct as all.
Net, sure, but thats under and assumption of Point Buy, or some other system.

Its absolutely distinct from Floating + Array.

I wonder if that poll has been done, Array, Points, or Roll?

EDIT: And I'm not trying to score points or anything here, its irrelevant because it will almost certainly be Floating + whatever, in 5.5. I'll just bask in the reflected glow of the 11 very attractive people who voted correctly so far. ;)
