How do you pronounce "Minotaur"?

I will normally say it "minn - oh - tour," sometimes I will also say "minn - ah - tar"

If I am feeling more proper, I will pronounce it "meen - ah - tour,"

I've always pronounced "MINN-uh-tahr" but it think it's one of those "many widely accepted pronunciations" things. It's funny, because I do ponounce King Minos as "MY-nohs".

Um, doesn't it come from Greek? Specifically, Minos the king of Crete?

The spelling comes from the Latin. Most greek names were transliterated by the Romans... and those are still used.
