How long have you been a member of this community?

I've been part of the Community since about Aug/Sep of 2000. I was in a WOTC seminar at GenCon 2000, with a fresh new Player's Handbook. One of the speakers (Skip?) said that someone named Eric Noah had a website where 1E&2E to 3E conversions were being made. :)

I was sent a link to the site by Pitmonkey/Dire Groundhog after he had found the site on RPGplanet. I signed up and got the Anthraxus name on the boards a few months later, but mostly I just lurk and read all the interesting posts!

I found the site in ??????? February of 2000??? I don't remember exactly. I didn't start posying until a few months after the 3E launch.

I rarely post anymore since I moved to Florida. I mostly lurk.

I've been lurking ever since I first came accross Eric's site, about a month before 3e's release. Probably at least a year before I started posting on a semi-regular basis. I still spend more time reading than posting, so I like threads like this since they help me get my post count up and seem like less of a lurker.

Lord, I'm not sure I remember. A while.

Let's see, let's work backwards -
This is Morrus's Third Edition (Host),
and I had been a member on Eric's board for a while when he switched over.
I remember Eric had a few server problems too, and I remember when he changed his logo for the final time. Red-and-black boards sounds familiar, but I don't think I actually posted there.
I certainly wasn't pre-VBoard days.

I *may* have been a registered member before I bought my PHB, I don't remember. Wait - I remember signing the "Master Tools for Mac" petition, which puts me before 8/25/2000 (bless the archives), but I can't remember how much before. Having just read the news archives I'd have to say - not much.

Now, if you'll pardon me, this mostly lurker is going to go over to a corner, pluck his gray hairs, and file down his long teeth.

Found the site (and subsequently found out about an upcoming new edition!--I hadn't been keeping up with new 2nd ed stuff for a while) in ~June 2000 by random google search soon after I moved to Waterloo and was looking for a group.

I didn't check out the message boards until a while after that, and when I did The Pantheon was running rampant!

So, a few months later when I again braved the message boards I decided to sign in, although I remained a lurker for quite a while.

Now, I participate in two In-Character games (Of Sound Mind, and Swashbucklers of the Sword Coast). I used to frequent the rules board (to help those in need!) and the house rules forum, but now all I have time for is Piratecat's Story hour (Sadly, I haven't even been keeping up with Sagiro's), and the occasional lurk in the general forum besides the PbP games.

I remember the shock when I got back from field work last summer to find that Eric's site had vanished and the fledgeling d20reviews had usurped his role!

Let's hope we'll see another one of these threads a few years from now......

PS. I used to be #1913 on the old boards, if that helps place me in the timeline.
