How many monster books do you have?

Thanks Joshua - thats kinda what I needed to know. I am looking for demons at the moment and just wanted to know of AotA was worth looking at. I'll probably pick it up next week.

Lesee
MM, CC, CCII, MoF, LoH, AoA, DoD, Menagarie, Minions, EncD&D.

I have used all of them at one time or another, but of those, I find the CCII, MM, and LoH the most useful and/or inspired.

Plus, there are creatures in many setting and WotC cap system books.

Edit: forgot about denizens of dread.

Let's see:

MM & MoF(WotC)
CC1 & CC2 (SSS)
N&D1 and N&D2 (MEG)
LoH & AoA(GR)
DoD(RL=SSS)
Minions: Fearsome Foes(Bastion)
Demons and Devils Ency(Fast Forward)

Those are the only ones that I can remember. That does count books like PsiHB, MotP, etc.

I'm looking forward to:

Tome of Horrors(Necromancer Games)
MM2(WotC)
BoVD(WotC) if that counts
The next Book of Fiends from GR whenever they put it out!

What I want to take a look at:

Liber Bestarius(Eden Studios)
Monsternomicon(Privateer Press)

I have a pretty experienced group with only one rookie (well by now he's at least a 2nd level player so I shouldn't call him a rookie anymore) so I have to keep throwing new creatures at them to keep them on their toes. Heck even Tuckers Kobolds are becoming a little old (for me and them). :(

I've always believed that you can never have enough monsters. Plus I like having the books. :)

Monster Manual and Denizens of Darkness.

Sourcebooks with critters include Psionics handbook, RTTEE, Diablo II Diablerie, Harvest of Darkness, Enchiridion of Mystical Music, Dragon lords of Melnibone, Mongoose's Necromancy book, Ragnorak, and I'm sure there are some others.

I have only used MM and DOD in 3e so far.

From 1e MM, FF, MM2, from 2e the MC on CD and the combined Ravenloft I & II appendices.

Monster Manual.

I think I may get the MM2 and possibly a few third-party items. However, the ability to class monsters easily and add a few feats or abilities to change things around is more than enough for most of my needs.

Oh yeah...I'm a shameless user of the Creature Catalog. It can't be helped I suppose.

Monster Manual, Creature Collection, Creature Collection 2, Legions of Hell, Armies of the Abyss, Liber Bestarius, Denizens of Dread, Nightmares and Dreams, Creatures (?) of Loerem, Monsters of Faerun.

I think that's it. I'm a firm believer that you can't have too many monster books.

While I'm thinking about it, is there a date for Tome of Horrors yet? Man, I gotta get my hands on that...

Monster books. :D

1e: Monster Manual, MM2, Fiend Folio, all modules from 1e (new monsters that havent seen print in any book- like the ones in the original Palace of the Silver Princess or a few from S4 that never saw print).

2e: All Monstrous Compendium inserts, both binders, the hardback book (Monstrous Manual- both white and black covers)

3e: Monster Manual, Creature Collection I, Creature Collection II, Denizens of Darkness, Oriental Adventures, Manual of the Planes, Epic Level Handbook, Creatures of Rokugan, Monsters of Faerun, Minions: Fearsome Foes, Armies of the Abyss, Legions of Hell, Tome of Horrors (I wrote it, so I have the manuscript), and about 200 (so far) new monsters that I have designed since I did the manuscript for Tome of Horrors.

Also- I have at least one hard copy of every single issue of Dragon (not the CD ROM collection) ever published including the Strategic Review, so I have access to all the monsters in the new and old mags that havent seen print anywhere else.
