I mean, why would we want to keep circling around on it? I've explained why I disagree with you. What more is there to say?

Again - I simply disagree. IME many DMs have monsters specifically TRY to murder spellcasters (for good reason) and my evidence is that the entire game is built around that vulnerability.

This is my point. The non-casting classes are generally more vulnerable generally than the caster classes. This is true even if the non-caster is an Archer in the back or if the caster is a melee character.

I am one of those DMs that specifically go after spell casters.

Yes, the front line steps in the way - that's their job - but I have never seen it uncommon for that defense to be bypassed.

It does not have to be bypassed, they can be standing right next to each other and the martial is still usually going to be more vulnerable.
