How much damage??

My 8th level barbarian has damage of 1d12+20 damage.
With that damage i can deal almost 200 points of damage per round.
So is that good, average or bad for 8th level character, cause i dont have a clue? thx

With 2 attacks a round, how exactly is is that he's able to do almost 200 points of damage around?

And I'm assuming, of course, that you don't consider 52 "almost 200".

Greatsword + halforc (20 base str) + two str increases (22 base str) and a +3 weapon only results in a 1d12+15 base raging damage, which I would consider a good ammount of damage in any game.

If the same character were to Power Attack, they could get as much as 1d12+31 damage--but they'd have "only" a +11/+6 to hit, a far cry from the +19/+14 he usually has.

I do wonder how you got from 1d12+20 per attack to 200 per round. Even hasted, that'd be only three attacks a 32 each, which is just 96 points of damage. (Of course, if they all criticaled, it'd be a different matter--but if we're going to talk outrageous ammounts of damage, go for a hasted rogue with sneak attack and two weapon fighting. At 8th level, he could get four attacks which would each do 5d6 points of damage: 20-120 points of damage, before any damage bonus or critical hits--and with a higher hit ratio, to boot.)

Let's see, even with 2 weapon fighting... that is =

d12 + 20 per weapon = 32 max
if both weapons crit that is

32+32 right hand weapon = 64
32+32 left hand weapon = 64
totals 128...

Do you have an energy weapon or something?

Are you talking about crits figured into the 200 per round. That is the only way I can think of you doing that unless possible power attack and haste combo I don't think that could even get to the 200 mark

I dont remember his stats, but he has belt of giant str +6,
+2 keen greataxe, Str with rage and belt is very high,
and that 200 damage comes if both attack hit with critical.

Great Cleave? I saw a 7th level fighter do 75 points in one round recently with Great Cleave. Could have been considerably more if there were more criticals.

Sounds like your barbarian is a damage machine, above average for his level but not completely over the top.
