D&D General How Would You Modernize Greyhawk's Other Iconic Characters?

We've seen updates to Mordenkainen, Bigby, and Tasha in D&D 5e, but what about some of those other old famous characters, most notably members of the Circle of Eight?

How would you update some of those iconic characters to 5e? Would you have any race or class changes?

Or would you replace some of them with a successor (i.e. family member, apprentice, someone new)?

As an example, Murlynd sounds like he would be a good paladin/artificer on the surface. However, there's a Gunslinger subclass for the fighter from Critical Role. So I would start with that.

Also, Luke Gygax has converted his iconic character Melf into a bladesinger wizard.

I would definitely start with Murlynd. A lot of the Circle of Eight are pretty interchangeable and should be left for last. Oerth is full of much more interesting folks, like Iuz, Murlynd and Kelanen. Lean into them.
