I DM Standing up

Sit down at the moment... Sometimes lie on the floor if there aren't enough seats.

Would like to wander around a bit, but it's 6-7 PCs in a none too big front room... Hopefully get the chance more now it's summer and can play outside.

Guilty I'm afraid. Yes, I actually feel that I can "Think" better when I can move around. Also, by standing above the players more of their attention is on "Me" so there is a bit less screwing around at the table. We also play at one of my player's office's conference room and they have a large dry erase board on the wall that I'll use to draw out maps and diagrams.

I'm up and down throughout the session. I usually stand for combt. I have a three panel, customizable DM screen that is landscape rather than portrait height, so I can see over it, but I still end up standing for combat.

Any one else do this?

I've DM'd standing up more often than not. I just get too involved and excited in my telling and describing to stay seated.

This tends to happen when I play as well. I know that in the game this past Saturday I was on my feet more than the DM!

I don't know if it would make a difference or not, but the groups I've gamed with have generally used minis a lot, and standing helps me see the situation better. Chances are I would stand a lot anyway. :)

I am a walker DM, I will stand up and will move around the table, placing myself behind players to whisper knowledge in their ears or to say surprise attack.

I stand on occasion, but not all that often. Usually during RP scenes rather than combat.

I find that when I stand to DM, the players focus on me more than natter amongst themselves.

I mix it up. Stand for some things and sit for others. I can't sit for an entire gaming session anyway. I need to move around a bit. I also find it's easier to role-play certain NPC's if I'm standing or moving around.
