I HATE the term GISH

I use the term gish on these and other message boards, but I don't think I've ever heard it mentioned or mentioned it away from the community.

Well, unless the person I was talking to also visited the boards.

There was something wrong with fighter/mage?

NO, nothing at all.

I hate the term Gish, and I know what it means, so it's doubley bad.

I think we should rename them...maybe combine fighter and mage...hmm......?

EDIT: I also use/like pally, barbar, and wizzy.

Hey, Gish was a good album.

Good call. Gish is a great album.

Even while running the Gityanki Incursion campaign for a year and a half, I never once uttered the word "gish." Not sure why. I just didn't.

It's both stupid and wrong (unless the character in question is a githyanki, that is).
Am I missing something? I still think it's stupid and wrong. Where does the 's' come from?

If you want to shorten "githyanki," it's shortened to "gith."

I suppose a "gish" might be a baby "gith" since it sounds a bit more cutesy.

When I hear 'gish,' I think 'bish," as in 'bishonen.'

And, for fighter-types (especially big, ol' manly fighter types) that's not necessarily a good thing as it puts the wrong image in my head.

I've never heard the term before, either. For the record, I think it sounds like something you'd order at an Indian restaurant.
