I just Cut Off all my Dreadlocks!

I even saved one as a souvenier. It was my favorite. I named it Ted.

Sorry, had to tell someone, and all of my friends have real jobs.

If you're interested they were mid back length, and had been nicely knotted up for about two years.

I feel your pain. I had dreads throughout college and for about a year after graduation, until the demands of the "Real World" required me to go with the corporate look. I have a dread saved too. I finally had to break it out as proof to my wife, who met me long after I cut my hair that mine was one longer than hers.

I've never had dreds, but I'll never forget the time I was sitting reading in my living room on a hot day, with the front door open, and one of my friends walked in- I was pretty engrossed, so didn't really look, but recognized his gait and voice- and then slapped his freshly-removed dredlocks in my lap.

I was, ahem, shocked.

Gross.

Even when my hair was at its longest (belt-line), I washed it everday. Or so.

Dreads have teh stank.

Proud of you nonetheless, OP. You've entered the workforce.
