I just took my first prestige class!

Just finished a very good D&D session...

After over seven months of real-life time, and about 15-20 gaming sessions, and loads of blood, sweat, and a few tears, I have finally qualified for my first prestige class as a character under 3rd edition rules.

Basically, I started gaming in 3e only late last year, and after a long period out of gaming. I had started a couple of campaigns as a DM and player that fizzled, and finally in January I started a Forgotten Realms campaign as a Dwarf fighter.

I qualified relatively late, meeting the requirements at 9th level. (the link to my character below needs to be updated a bit...) The PrC is the Knight of the Black Forge from Green Ronin's Hammer and Helm, modified for the FR.

In game time the period was actually quite short (a few months at most, our DM is flexible about advancement), but I guarentee the effort was significant. Twice I have been brought below 0 HP. I've been at the front line in defeating two 20-level NPCs, one who came back as an undead with the same hit points. We also survived a confrontation with demon, just barely. Our party has recovered two artifacts, the Crown of Thorns and the heart of a dwarven holy warrioress Kirra.

Anyway, sorry for this short spurt of vanity. I thought I'd just offer one of those great moments that D&D is all about.

well, congratulations indeed, i am a person who has played more characters that took prestige classes then those who have not. i still remember when that first 3e character finally qualified for loremaster. the reason i love them so much is that "summoner" or some such thing sounds so much cooler then sorceror who casts alot of summoning spells. i love the prestige. i don't want to be a rogue/monk/illusionist, i want to be a ninja. they are my second favorite 3e addition (feats)
