(IC) Against the Giants PBP Group 1

Eoghan looked up the short but steep rocky slope. All he could make out was the giant's boot in a quick flash as the latter moved to grab a club. Then Valda grew large and blocked the hall, moving past Quinn who had stepped in front of her and thrown a little ball of fire. (His flames had scattered on the ground between the giant's feet.)

In the chamber, Jack ducked through the giant's legs and tried to slash his heel, but his knife slid along boot and stony flesh without going through. Bible thrust her blade into the giant's side, leaving a mark, but her second thrust sparked harmlessly as the giant raised his club and brought it down hard on the sailor.

Then Valda climbed into the chamber and beat the giant back, getting in two solid blows before taking a club to her shoulder in return. Down behind Eoghan, Cordit looked up and howled in frustration that she couldn't find room to come and help, while Tenibor stood behind her with the dwarf Harmock with no sight lines through which to cast spells.

OOC: Eoghan waited; Jack & Quinn missed; Valda did 28; Bible did 14; Cordit, Harmock, & Tenibor Watched; Giant did 22 to Bible & 18 to Valda.

The giant roared, like the sound of two boulders tumbling down a mountain, as Jack stabbed him in the calf, then rolled away as Quinn's flame burst on and around the giant's legs. The giant brought his club down where Jack had been a moment before, and then swung it around, striking Valda on the backswing.

OOC: Jack did 25 & Quinn did 13 fire to the Stone Giant, who did 25 to Valda. @Hriston, @Blue & @Shadowedeyes, you're up!

Valda knocked the giant back with one of her blows before taking a strike in return, and Bible lunged under the giant's arm, thrusting the blade deep. The giant let out a grinding wheeze and fell to the ground with a thunderous thump.

OOC: Giant's down. End Combat.

~<Why not give it a quick search?>~, Eoghan sent a thought arrowing towards those in the sleeping chamber.

~<Where do we go from here? Deeper, looking for another way out? Or back out and hope we can sneak past. Our resources are limited.>~

OOC: @FitzTheRuke could we see a larger map of the area we are in? Jack would be in favor of pushing forward, trying to find a different exit, as bringing this many folks up through the chimney sounds sketchy at best. Have we asked the prisoners already if they are aware of a different exit (other than the stairs we came down)?
