Rodrigo had successfully managed to block the rotting giant's claws, saving himself from the painful rotting effect that would even harm a creature's flesh.

OOC: Sure, no necrotic.

With the fight over, Dellrak popped a few of his magic berries into his mouth, healing his wounds. He walked over to Kasqa and offered him a handful of the goodberries, as well. “Well done,” he praised the Chultan warrior. “Ye did better’n me in tha’ fight.”

“Anyone else need some healin’?”
Angis asked. “I got a few more goodberries left.”

Angis helped with the pyre, felling trees out of the way, and then they were off.

Once the fires burned the last of the rot away, the Sticks worked their way around the rain-filled depression. Qawasha indicated the best direction to proceed toward the site of the fallen skyship while Rodrigo crept ahead, keeping an eye out for trouble.

The oily smoke from the fires curls into the sky, a thin tendril reaching to find haven in some new vegetation. Miss Imogen watches it, and feels a victory when the moisture of the jungle seems to dissipate the smoke before it can find purchase. The victory isn't hers, she knows, but she feels it is everyone's.

She has not said much, she knows. The oppressive heat and the Death Rot are choking all of them, she knows. She looks at her companions, and gives a smile where she can, hoping to perceive who is feeling the most stress, and how best she can help them. She makes a simple broth, salts it lightly, and offers it to any who want it.

She recovers some of her arrows, cleans them, and wants to wipe the tarry substance off the arrowheads that seems to have affected every arrow that had hit.

When it's time to get moving, she takes point, creeping ahead as silently as she can so that they are not surprised. Weed is balanced on her backpack, holding on to the straps She turns around and sees him repacking the Chultan doll she had been given so many weeks ago. She does not know when he took it out.

Myrral joins the scouting party, but returns regularly to instruct the hunters and lighten the mood of the party. While tabaxi hunters remain with the group leading them the easiest way and clearing the passage where needed, they still have trouble doing it without guidance, both because of language barrier and their youth, not thinking about other races inability to climb trees naturally or dash over marshy terrain so fast the bog doesn't hold them

For two days, the Sticks and their allies slogged their way through sodden jungle, drenched by an ongoing downpour. Then suddenly one morning, the rain stopped and the sun baked everything into a warm, hot mist. They had been taking turns scouting forward and Miss Imogen was the first to spot the wreck:

A wooden vessel was caught high in the branches of several trees. It resembled a sailing ship, but there were many differences that marked it as not ever having been a seagoing vessel. Furthermore, it had broken into three pieces - the stern was the lowest piece, hanging precariously by its rigging about fifty feet above the ground. The middle section was fifteen feet higher, and the bow section was firmly wedged into a nest of branches another ten feet above that.

Evidently, there had been survivors of the crash, for a campsite was built on the ground beneath the trees, made from scavenged ship-parts and cargo. No one was there now, and it seemed like no one had been there for at least a number of days.

As the others caught up to Miss Imogen, a weak voice called out from above, “Don't linger on the ground! There are terrible beasts nearby!”

Harb looked up at the voice. He wasn't quite sure what to make of it, but decided to give it a try. Taking anote from their mote encounter, he gave Ukee his rope, knotted with a loop at one end, and sent her up to find a place to hang it.

"We mean you no harm! My companion is coming to hang a rope for us to come up. Perhaps we can help."
