D&D 5E (IC) Fitz's Folly

"Maybe you shouldn't trust so readily here. In the jungle, even little things can kill you. Having a magic ship hanging with invisible voices..."

Myrral looks up.
"Show yourselves!"

When Rodrigo saw the ship, he sighed in disappointment. He really wanted to fly above the canopy! When he heard the voices though, he felt a small surge of hope - perhaps they could fix the vessel? Not all was lost.

Upon hearing notions of beast, he drew his sword. He nodded at Myrral - "Indeed, but the warning could be real - we'll keep eyes on the ground" . He exchanged glances with the druid, and both started peering intently in the surrounding area.

Rodrigo kept a lookout, but kept being distracted by the ship above - he was so curious.

Qawasha closed his eyes and sent his senses out. The birds, the trees, the small critters in the ground, they saw things, and they spoke to him...

(OOC: when a druid rolls critical on a perception check...)

Miss Imogen stays on the ground, whle others challenge the voice in the trees. With Rodrigo and Qawasha, she looks around, on the alert for any threats.

"I'll watch with Rodrigo," she says, nocking an arrow.

Tabaxi hunters nock arrows to their bows and spread a bit looking around. Myrral in the meantime has his attention firmly above. He contemplates climbing up there, but except for his tribesmen, no one could help him quickly if things go south.

"I am here." called the voice, and a handsome, weathered-looking human woman with curly black hair flecked with gray peered over the rail of the stern section of the shattered ship, "I am Captain Thasselandra Bravewing. I hope you intend to aid us. There are few of us who remain, and I have to admit, we are in poor shape to repel boarders, far less to stage a ruse."

As the others prepare to set a rope, or keep an eye out for danger, Dellrak looks up at the ship and the woman peering down at them.

“Where d’ye hail from, Captain Bravewing?” he asked her. “An’ ‘ow’d’ye get up in a tree? Ye’re a long way from anywhere.”

"Do you require healing? May we come up?" asks Myrral. He has no experience with human customs, but it seems prudent to ask before entering a fortified position.
In tabaxi, he meows something to the hunters and the two started retreating toward the tree.
"You would have better vantage from above. Be careful not to enter humans space, just in case."

"Yes, please do come up, before you attract the ground-lurkers. Do you have food? We have run out of supplies some days ago." answered the Captain before throwing down a rope-ladder.

Higher up, a man appeared on the rail of the mid-section. He appeared unthreatening, but wary of the newcomers.

"We are from Halruaa." said the Captain, as if this should answer all of Dellrak's questions.

Miss Imogen feels comfortable on the ground, and so she will wait for the others to go up first.

She hears the conversation and the Captain's introduction, but the names mean nothing to her [OOC: History roll 1d20 = 5].Assuming the others go up, she will follow, allowing herself to be lifted, and present her hand to the Captain with the best courtesy she can muster in the trees.
