"We should take its head at least," Sachiko points out from where she's hunkered down to get a better look at the creature. She rubs her arm where it bit her, but seems nonplussed at how minor the wound is. "Fastus is right. This monster is a legend, which means WE'RE legends now! And we DEFINITELY have to follow the tracks back! Who knows how many babies it has in its cupboard, ready for eating on a rainy day?"

"Ew! Why'd we want to eat Soggy Monster babies?!" And then he got it and blushed: "FORGET I just said that!"

He'd been thinking 'nest!' and 'treasure!', that's why!

Jariah Taliaferro, Human Female

Jakira looked excited about a trophy until his mistress sighed. There was a mental exchange and the feline huffed sulkily.

Jariah was puzzled. “Yeah, I don’t think we want to eat monster babies… don’t say it, Jakira.”

“What? I prrrolly would like monsterrr babies,” he sulked.

The summoner rolled her eyes and continued on topic. “Do we actually know this thing WAS the Soggy River Monster? It would be good to actually know for sure when we try following its tracks to its lair.”

My guess it would Knowledge Nature or possible Dungeoneering because the creature looks a little like an aberration. But neither skills are in Jariah’s wheelhouse. :/[/sblock]

"What else COULD it be?" puzzled the blacksmith. "I mean: look at it!"

And as Suldrel was already hot on its tracks, Fastus hurriedly gestured to Wireth and the Soggy's corpse: "Let's just pull it to the side for now, right?" If only they had a tarp or some- And then he grinned, found a relatively dry spot to drop his shoulder bag and pulled out... "Tadaaa: HAMMOCK!"

He seemed EXTREMELY proud of himself.

OOC: Fastus now plans to hang the bound corpse of the Soggy in a tree (hopefully with everybody's help), so it's out of reach of predators and vermin, before catching up with Suldrel and the gang.

Wireth Norin, half-orc falconer

[sblock=ooc]My bad. I'd totally misread things and somehow had it in my head we'd just taken a few roads in town and were attacked shortly after leaving. I've got the geography right now. Apologies.[/sblock]

Wireth watched the exchange concerning babies and monsters and monster babies, his mouth slightly open, but finally just kept quiet until the others had made a plan.

He tried to curb the sideways grimace when Fastus decided they should hang to body to gather later; he was finding conceding to the aggressive human generally took far less effort than trying to avert his chosen path. He wrapped and hefted the corpse as well as he could, then shouldered his double axe again and nodded his readiness.

"I've no idea if this is or isn't what folks call the Soggy River Monster, but it's clearly a menace, whatever it is. Anything that attacks rather than steers clear of a large group of humans is something just as likely to threaten caravans. If there are more of them, we should find that out while the trail is fresh."

[sblock=ooc]As above. Wireth isn't trained in any Know skills, but he figures if it attacks large groups, it should be dealth with.[/sblock]

He tried to curb the sideways grimace when Fastus decided they should hang to body to gather later;
The young human somehow spotted it though and dropped his raised arm, obviously disappointed the big orc didn't see the sheer GENIUS of his solution.

"What do you want to do with it then? This was YOUR idea, bringing it back," he pointed out, somewhat at a loss.

OOC: I think we're close to the goblin village at this point, but Fastus is game. :)

OOC: Was the creature wearing anything, TS? Clothes, jewelry, tattoos? Remarkable past injuries or something maybe?

Actually you are closer to the town at this point.
The creature is not wearing anything and has nothing identifying either.
