Elsbeth

Elsbeth turned towards Fastus.

While this creature is potentially dangerous, I think we should leave it be as well. I am certain that if a witch did indeed reside here previously, it had a detrimental affect on the temperment of this creature."

"I guess..." agreed the lion-haired one, not looking all that convinced. Still... "Say, did you see any goblins go by recently?" he shouted at the walls. "Oh, or maybe skeletons loaded with lots and LOTS of gold?"

That's what they were looking for, right?

Sachiko brightened at Fastus' idea. They didn't have to fight!

"Hey!" she called, "That's right! We're not looking for a fight, just information! Tell us what we want to know and we'll leave and never come back! And we'll let everyone else know the witch is dead, so no one will come looking for her either!"

The tiny voice replies to Fastus' queries. "You are the first visitors this place has seen in years."

"We might not be the last," Wireth calls back to the creature as he joins the others outside. "We're following information suggesting this location may be on someone's hunting list. The last two places were a camp assaulted by undead, and a ship burned to a crisp. If the pattern holds, you may be in danger."

Once all have vacated the shack the tiny voice replies to Wireth's words. "Perhaps your words will deter others from exploring, yes? I can offer a small reward for you word on the matter?" The is a pause and then a parchment comes floating down from the ceiling and lands just a few feet inside the shack. "Here is something that might help. I will give you one other item should you agree to help in this matter." Grabbing up the parchment shows that it is a detailed map of the marsh (the one you are using is crude at best). It shows the goblin village and the ship that you have already found. It shows that your next destination is another ship and that your final destination is a cave entrance. The cave has a skull shaped rune next to it and a note that reads 'Have not explored; not worth the risk'.

"There is a halfling who also lives in the marsh here," says Suldrel, "And it might be prudent to let him in on your secret, as he would be better equipped to dissuade future would be guests as well. But beyond that, if you have been living here this long already unnoticed I can see so particular reason to keep you from continuing undisturbed."

Taking another glance at the map, the elf adds, "Did the witch leave this, or is this your own handiwork? If the former, it gives me even greater cause to wonder what is afoot..."
