Wireth watches the frenetic exchanges among the humans with only vaguely-concealed horror. All this back and forth and jockeying for primacy. How do they get anything done?

When the half-elf suggests they move, his sigh of relief is probably even more poorly concealed than his previous expression was. He points lamely skyward, to where Nairo circles above.

"My bird knows the way, though he may be harder to see when the trees close in."

At the ice elf's comment, the half-orc frowns. "You have to carry her? With all that energy, shouldn't that be the other way around?"

Suldrel glances back at the half-orc, a bit annoyed at the intrusion in what was supposed to be a personal conversation. But given this one has apparently accepted his previous criticism, he decides to be polite and says, "A reference to older times is all."

(OOC - Sachiko is human actually. Round ears. :))

"All right then, we TRUDGE!" Sachiko declared, undeterred by Suldrel's wit.

She gave Wirith a sunny smile and said, "He's talking about back when we were coming down the mountain. I was pretty tiny, so he had to help me out a lot."

OOC: Waiting for Ameiko's reaction.
OOC: EDIT= Is anybody carrying the 20 rations and the 3 unclaimed healing potions Ameiko gave us yesterday? (Fastus' inventory is kind of full at the moment.)

"I will slay the dragons for you, milady," he said in what he burningly hoped was a firm voice (Was 'dashing' too much to hope for?)!

Ameiko narrows her eyes and replies, "Goblins today! Dragons another day." She turns to the group, "We hope to see you back very soon."

Sachiko took Ameiko's other hand and made big puppy dog eyes at her.

"My lady," she said, dropping her voice an octave and filling it with melodramatic seriousness, "I swear by my honor, and my life, I will swing by the market on the way back and pick up your order of firewood. By my troth, ye shall not go cold this winter's frosty morn or I myself will leap onto the fire so you may warm yourself on my blazing passion."

She started planting smooch after smooch on the back of the hand, until Ameiko yanked it back away from her, whereupon she started giggling at her own naughtiness to the point she couldn't quite go on with the joke.

In response to Sachiko, Ameiko just cocks her head to the side and sighs heavily.

Brinestump Marsh

The intrepid group head out of town and toward the swamp. As you approach the path you see the sheriff and two of his men approaching. The sheriff waves and yells, “Good hunting!” He and his men continue down the Lost Coast Road while your group heads down the New Fish Trail. You travel about seven or eight hundred feet before descending a slope into the Brinestump Marsh. Fog hangs onto the ground in many places under the early morning light. Every once in a while the sounds of splashing can be heard in the distance or eerie low growls and bellows from deeper in the swamp can be heard.

OOC: Everyone make a Perception check.

Fastus caught up with the others on the road, stopping to walk besides Sachiko and Elsbeth.

"Well that didn't go so well." He'd had such hopes too... What could have gone wrong?

Perception for Fastus: 1d20-1=10.
