Suldrel sighs in resignation. This game Sachiko plays could be fun at times, but this hardly seemed like the appropriate time. Slowly edging over to where Wireth is standing, the elf leans in and mutters, "If these guys do not give up on the immaturity relatively soon I may have to abandon my cultural imperative for mistrusting orcs just in order to keep my sanity."

Wireth Norin, half-orc falconer

Wireth wasn't quite sure what to do when the fiery human came over to comfort him. He wasn't used to humans giving him anything resembling credit for trying. Usually they were shrinking away from him or looking for the right rocks to throw.

When Sudrel came up on the other side, and the usually-businessminded elf cracked wise, Wireth--already off guard--barely managed to stifle the chuckle that surprised him. He gave both men a grin for their efforts.

The half-orc looked to Jakira as the warden asked for mice. "Well, there you go: some for you, some for the snakes?" he offered, giving Jariah a quick glance to make sure she didn't mind his joking with the eidolon.

While Jariah could care less about Sachiko's childish claims to have been solely responsible for defeating the imposter, the immature eidolon had something to say on the subject.

Jakira scoffed at Sachiko's tale and said, "She is a liarrr. The lickety tongue didn't touch me an' I bit it. An' my mistrrress burrrned it with acid too."

Agreeing more with Sudrel's sentiments, Jariah only said, "Never mind, Jakira. Here are the mice."

Immediately forgetting about the misrepresentation of the battle, the feline eidolon took the sack of mice over to the halfling and replied to Wireth with chipper tone, "Yay, finally!"

Setting the bag down, Jakira started dividing up the mice by using his mouth to bring them out of the sack. The first one he swallowed, "Mmmph furrr me...."

"Onnph furrr you."
He offered the Warden a mouse while holding it by the tail in his jaws so the wriggling rodent dangled from his lips.

Jariah rolled her eyes and gave Wireth a look as she said wryly, "The bottomless pit cannot always count very well sometimes."

She intervened, "Here, you better let me or the Warden will not get the three." She reached into the sack and grabbed two more mice by their tails and held them out for the halfling as they dangled squeaking and complaining.

Jariah asked, "Back to the goblins. Are there patrols of them moving about the swamp, or are they sticking close to the village? What do you mean by braver than normal?"

As nobody else seemed about to - at least not immediately - Fastus accepted the magical cloak from the warden's hands - "Thanks!" - went to Sachiko and then draped it over her shoulders from behind.

"The WINNER! Most valuable fighter in the ultra-featherweight competition! Sachiko Andosanaaa!" And he stepped back, grinning his congratulations.

"Back to the goblins. Are there patrols of them moving about the swamp, or are they sticking close to the village? What do you mean by braver than normal?"
"Could you draw us a map?" added Fastus. "I see things way better on a map."

And since nobody ELSE seemed to want a drink, he companionly sprawled on the bottom step of the stairs. Guess he did have his own waterskin? He took a pull from that... And then a longer one: bleeding (and combat) WAS thirsty work!

"You want some, Elli?"

Sachiko accepted the cloak with a moment of genuine surprise, but quickly recovered and twirled it around. "Thanks!" Ut could have been aimed at Proudfoot or Fastus or both.

She then shot a glare at Jakira. "I'm not a liar!" she lied, "I did kill it!"

Elsbeth

Elsbeth politely declined the offer of a drink from Fastus. From what she had heard, she did owe her return to consciousness to him and possibly her very life. If he and the others had not rushed in to attack the creature, it might have killed her.

"Thank you Fastus but I am not thirsty at the moment. I...appreciate you healing me. That was very kind of you."

"Sachiko might have killed the creature. I was unfortunately not in a position to observe the fight."

"Although there doesn't seem to be any organized patrols, I have still seen groups of goblins in the swamp. I have always been able to avoid any confrontations with them in the past. Before the fireworks the goblins mostly left people alone. But now they seem to seek out trouble. As far as a map is concerned, I never was much of a cartographer. It is fairly easy to find, but it is a guide you are interested in..." He trails off and then just smiles a big smile.

Jariah commented to Elsbeth, “While she did deliver the killing blow, she was not the only one that injured the creature. We can call it lying or a misrepresentation of the truth, but if it makes her feel better to keep score of such things…” the summoner shrugged, not really caring.

She was more interested in the goblins that the childish bragging of the others.

Jariah was still holding the mice for the Warden and held them in front of his face so he could not miss seeing them.

“Thank you for the information. Do you not want these?”

Jakira mumbled with his mouth occupied, "Morrrrph me?"

Over her shoulder Jariah continued, “It sounds like if we want to confront a group of goblins and get started, we should head in the general direction of their village and wait for some to wander near. The more goblins we deal with outside their village the less they have inside when we need to invade and kill the rest.”

"Hmmm? Mice? Oh yes. Of course." He takes the mice from the woman and takes them to the storage room. He returns a short time later.

"Are you offering to guide us, then?" the half-orc asks the warden.

"Why? Are you in need of one. I can offer you my services for free as a further payment for your help here."
