D&D 5E (IC) Scourge of Daggerford

A grubby-looking human came out from behind a tent and made to calm the last remaining boar. He addressed the elf-host (who weren't listening and probably didn't understand him at any rate, but Vairar could hear), "Please don't murder Heddie or me, masters. We just do what we're told."
"Don't enter the area of the elven guardians, they don't understand you and they will kill you if you come closer!"
Vairar shouts back
"Take your pig and run toward Floshin estate. Tell them Vairar sent you and surrender! Tell them everything you know about the orcs and their plans and you're free. Go!"

He rushes off after the barbarian mumbling to himself.
"Gods forbid he would do something sensible like waiting out the healing or take cover from the archers! Noo, I have to run after him and hope I don't get pincushioned while doing so."

@FitzTheRuke I made a mistake last round, I DO NOT and CANNOT) have both guardians and aura of vitality active, they are concentration spells. I did think about getting it up, but changed it to guardians...so...let's say last round healing for Lunn was 2nd level healing word?

Lunn keeps running, his rage all-encompassing. At the moment, he doesn't care about physical wounds or whether the whole fort comes after them, but this archer...this specific orc...he's not going anywhere.

He runs next to it, slashing a bit too early with one swing, cutting into the clothes...but as he approaches, slithering roots, writhing grasses and the mud itself slow down the fleeing archer and the next swing catches him squarely across the back.

Lionel recognised the clumsy efforts of this orc and struck him straight into its belly. The orc fell over backwards, clutching his stomach.
Lionel turned around and set off towards the camp. Come on, we need to help the others in the camp! he shouted to Escella and Tommi.

Bonus Action: Insightful Fighting check: 1D20+7 = [10]+7 = 17
Action: Short sword attack and damage, incl sneak attack damage: 1D20+7 = [9]+7 = 16
1D6+4+3D6 = [5]+4+[1, 4, 6] = 20
, hit and enough to kill the orc, even without sneak attack damage.
Move: to AA30

With Oh-Six having revived Escella and Lionel having killed the last orc, Tommi rejoined the north group under a large tree. Nearby, the boar found its way into the murky pond and began to happily wallow. The north group began to turn their attention southward, where two archers were just starting to move toward them.

Escella shot one with her eldritch bolts, and they saw Lunn Dornuk hack down the other. Then Angis came from around the side of a tent, and he finished off the one that had been wounded by Escella, hacking him down with his axe.

Vairar told the human boar-groom to flee to the south, and the man made a gesture that looked like tipping his hat (though he had no hat) and he began to lead the last boar through a secret path through the camp's defenses, while Vairar rushed to join the others, followed by his elf-host.

But only one orc yet lived, lying in the mud of the challenge-pit: The orc that had lost the challenge for leadership of the tribe. He was beaten down and stunned, but had been ignored by the Daggerfordians as they cleared the camp.

GM: Fight's over. Angis will dispatch that orc if no one objects (it's what Kahless would do, I bet), otherwise you can take him prisoner.

Tommi's glad the battle is done, and is pleased Escella is standing again. "Are you alright?" he asks her. When he gets an answer he thanks his good luck that no one got past.

Tommi wonders if, with help from Lionel or Escella and a hovering Oh-Six, he might be able to bring the boar back to the camp. Could they possibly have a mount? At least, they should guide it back to its pen.

As long as it doesn't seem foolish to do so, he does that, gently guiding the boar back. By now he's slung the horn over his shoulder, but he hasn't looked at it properly yet.

When they return, he sees the slaughter. He returns to the tent, and picks up the sling he had dropped, now trampled in the dust. The Orog he had challenged in the tent now lay dead by the boar pen, caught in a blast it had never seen coming. Tommi rolled it over for good measure, to ensure it had died. And then Tommi remembered the combatants in the arena. He made his way over to them.

OOC: Tommi is untrained but has +4 on animal handling. If a roll is appropriate: 1d20+4=23 (with advantage).

OOC: If things had gone differently (better) with the Orog in the tent, Tommi was going to go kill the orc during the fight. He will do so now, if given the chance.

The boar was reluctant to leave its wallowing hole, but with some stern discipline, it followed Tommi back to its pen. By then, Tommi was convinced that he could ride it.

When he found the defeated orc, it was clear that Angis was thinking the same thing. The dwarf spoke to Escella, saying, "There's nae chance he'll be anything but trouble. Best tae finish'im off now an' be doon with it, grizzly as it be."

While they spoke, Tommi felt gutter's hilt find its way to his hand.

"We could take it back. He was after all a leader, or soon to be one. He may know something useful. As distasteful as that may be."
Vairar doesn't object to killing, simply promoting the interest of the elves.
"If we're not returning, I can kill it."

Escella wanted to return to the Floshin Estate, but she calculated that they had only just over three hours of daylight remaining - only enough for a third of the trip.

She did not mind travelling at night, but orcs were generally more active at night. They couldn't stay here. The camp was large enough for three times as many orcs as they had defeated. While many orcs had been killed in the Siege of Floshin Manor, she suspected that it was possible that more could return to the camp. Of course, leaving would undo some of the reason for having attacked the camp in the first place.

She was sure that before nightfall they could make it to Nandar Lodge - an abandoned hunting lodge that Kelson's scouts often used for a campsite when they ventured into Ardeep Forest.
