The nameless one stands up in the sidecar, a hand on Targo's shoulder and an armored boot on the side for stability: click mumble clacketty click "Where is the mining engineer, please?" click jumble clacketty "Where is the one in charge?"

OOC: Volume ratcheted to high, of course. If that doesn't work, he/she will ask Targo to reach out and grab one of those fleeing past the speedbike so the gand can politely repeat the question. :)

Keeping a curious eye on the "shaking" elevator too if he can.

As the terrain began to pass her by, Jihahna began trying to steady her resolve. What is there to fear if one is expendable? Nothing. But she didn't want to die, did she? She shook her head in confusion. Meditation or whatever this was... It was STUPID to think she could concentrate on it now of all times. Jihahna wasn't used to that stuff. She was a MERCENARY for cryin' out loud.

She grit her teeth in angry contemplation. All she knew was fighting and working... Not this Jedi garbage. Then a thought crossed her mind. The mindset she always had in her work. Focusing on the task at hand ALWAYS helped to clear her mind. Maybe that would be what she would do for now? Yeah. This is what she will do when things get rough, if she met with the demons, treat them as she would a busted engine or a faulty connection. Disconnect from the emotion and focus on the task at hand.

With that she raised her eyes to the horizon and kept a lookout gor danger, ready for whatever would come her way.

OOC: Yesterday, though I didn't post, I was thinking a lot about the game. Thinking maybe we could suggest certain music tracks from the Star Wars universe at certain points in the story just for fun? Like maybe when This Gand jumped into the sidecar, the 'Dual of fates' soundtrack began, the parts without the singing, just the intense instrumental buildup as we all make our way to unknown dangers.

No one seems to be paying attention to this Gand as she shouts for who might be in charge. Finally one miner running by says "Reja-9 be our crew chief, but she still down there in Shaft 13R. Something got her... something in the dark" The miner then goes pale and darts back towards the trail to the mining camp.

As the rest of the team makes their way up the trail to the mine pit (and having to dodge fleeing miners), this Gand sees something moving up the pit wall in the smoke. She can't really make it out, just a shape, then multiple shapes moving up the pit wall on the opposite side from where the speederbike is parked (and above the shaking elevator lift).

Targo leans back and readies his blaster carbine, muttering "Whats the heck be going on heres?". He is not looking at (and probably has not noticed) the movement on the other side of the pit wall, but seems to be generally starting to freak out about the way the miners are acting. They sure seem overly panicked for a simple earthquake that ended a good five minutes ago...

GM: Unless this Gand wants to do something more the rest of the team will pull up in the landspeeder within a minute or so...

The gand drops back into the seat, clicking "Trouble comes to these ones." She points with a gloved finger: slur clicketty jumble "Shall we go meet it?" with a tilted head at Targo, showing off its subtle markings.

OOC: Proposing a run-and-dash (possibly) strafing run at the dark shapes, see what there is to be seen (hopefully with enough speed to pull back out afterwards).

Strafing soundtrack: Battle of Heroes.

"Ah..." Targo mutters, "Maybe safer to wait and sees whats its is don't yea thinks??"

But after a second he shrugs and stows his blaster (although in the very close at hand) and the speederbike shoots along the pit wall angling to get a better view of the "shapes". As the smog and smoke somewhat clear this Gand suddenly can make out weird, giant spider-like creatures clamoring up the pit wall!! The one closes to the pit rim is 40 some meters away, while most are still farther down the wall. This Gand figures there are at least twenty of the creatures climbing the pit wall very rapidly. She can also better make out the shaking elevator lift and can now see that four or five (it had to make out as there is a lot of smog here) additional spider-like things are prying the metal cage apart to try and get at the occupants (maybe half a dozen miners are inside). From this angle the lift is about 60 meters away. Targo curses and is ready to pull the speederbike away at full speed...

As this Gand sees this the rest of the team, riding in the landspeeder, enters the gorge (they are about 100 meters away from this Gand's position)

GM: This Gand will need to make a Charisma (Persuasion) check to get Targo to stay, otherwise he is fleeing with the bike, and the sidecar with it.

This Gand can also make a Intelligence (Nature) check, with advantage, to get an idea what the spider things are...

[sblock=Intelligence (Nature) DC 12]
They are Gaping Spiders, identified by some miners as being native to various caves and mines that they have been in, but never in this great a numbers. Most of the time they are solitary or hunt in small packs of less then half a dozen[/sblock]

The rest of the team still does not see the spider-things.

This Gand's actions? The rest of the teams?

Jihahna looks about at the chaos, searching for this gand. Assuming she sees it, she will move closer. As she does so, she will contact it via communicator. "Okay Gand, we've arrived, what's the situation?"

Targo curses and is ready to pull the speederbike away at full speed...
Comrades in arms: 1D20 = [17] = 17

... but the nameless one reaches out to get his attention and something in the look they share makes the big nikto swear again but stay their crazy course. For now.

Wrist cocked, "Gratitude." drone click jumble clicketty "The opportunity might not come again," it says even as he finishes rotating the mounted weapon so its reticule falls on the back of an overhanging... pumping station? by the pit wall. More precisely on the motor chugging away at the back of it.

She flips off the twin safeties and mashes down on both triggers.

OOC: Sustained fire on the motor (or on the cliff itself if there isn't a pump station after all) above the spider-things, hoping to cause an explosion/collapse/landslide to bury them in rubble/hold them back. Never knew what hit it: 1D20+5 = [20]+5 = 25; 3D8 = [2, 6, 2] = 10 NAT 20!!!!
+Crit damage: 3D8 = [3, 2, 7] = 12 = 22 points of damage total - 5 damage threshold for Devastating Attack.

OOC 2: Know thy aracnids: 2D20.HIGH(1)+2 = [8, 7]+2 = 10. No idea what the things are though.
