[IC] SWS/DnD5, Star Wars the Old Republic – A Gathering Darkness

"100 credits sounds more than fair upfront. I appreciate your.... Well, you seem upfront and to the point. I appreciate that. A contract is just as good for you as it is for me. We'll have it written up that i received some payment in advance too." As the miner spoke his piece, Jihahna turned her attention away from the rep.

Jihanahs calm and cold composure remained intact, but a polite smile had appeared on her face. She drew her rifle, lowered, but readied and set to stun.

"Easy there buddy, we're just looking for answers to the Kwi problem. These answers might make things easier for Czerka in the long run! Unless of course, there's something you know about the Kwi you're not telling us?"

Her weight shifted once again as she awaited a response from the miner.

[sblock=Mechanical]
-Accepted 100 credit advance

"We are less then a day out but I need to get the final coordinates before we make the last jump"
As it's closest, the gand walks over and triggers the intercom. "Kldu mungfr Yes, Kaldo. gd lhasdfhi ghj ktrr Can these humble ones help in any way?" With an 'Apology' gesture to the other two.

The aqualish eyes Jihanah wearily and says "Watching you both I is. Mind your business own you both should. Warning I have given be remembered it should." and with that he turns and walks away.

Vivian shakes her head sadly and heading into Footfall proper, adding "Too many people only care about the cred in front of their faces and don't worry about anything or anyone else."

Just past the protective spaceport wall there are a number of cantinas that line both sides of the road. They appear to cater to miners and the crews of the various starships that make landfall here. They all appear to be fairly busy right now with all the various noises of music and laughter. The fringer also gets her first really good look at the planet itself as just over the buildings she can see a thick jungle canopy somewhat shrouded in mist. Past the cantinas there are a number of hotel and boarding like houses and then large warehouses. There is also a large fort-like building on the edge of town with a stylized 'CZ' Czarka Corp symbol on the front, surrounded by large smoke stacks... probably where the mineral processors are.

Vivian leads Jihanah to a smaller 3 story building with a Republic Survey Corp name printed over the door. She adds "You can spend the night here if you want and we will go meet the other members of your crew tomorrow."

Inside there is a large open office like space with a human working on a GE3-series protocol droid. The room has a few desks and a number of various computer station set up. There are four doors inside the room and a staircase in one corner. Vivian takes Jihanah upstairs to a spare room where she can store her equipment and sleep for the night.

====

Meanwhile back in space on the Morning Song, Captain Kaldo squawks over the intercom "You would just get in the way. Now sit back like good cargo and leave the driving and thinking to me..." and with that goes back to silently ignoring any additional quarries by the trio.

Less then a day later they all feel the ship drop out of hyperspace again and a more chipper captain appears in the common room to refill his recaffee, saying "And we are here. We should be landing in a couple of hours. Go get your gear and you can disembark as soon as we touchdown. Remember I have been contracted by the Republic to take you back to Coruscant in one weeks time. If you are not ready by then I leave without you. If you want to go early I should be done with my business here in three days. If you need to find me I will be staying at the Jungle Wind cantina at the spaceport

The next morning Vivian swings by to grab Jihahna and heads back to the spaceport to meet the rest of the team. The cool jungle air had created a thick fog last night and it is slow to dissipate the next morning. It clings to the ground in thick bands and cuts visual range down to twenty meters at most (less in some places). Walking through the town proper was rather eerie, especially when a speeder car would swoop by at high speed, the driver obvious too pedestrians or obstacles in the way. Despite the danger the pair make it to the spaceport without injury or getting lost.

Vivian points to a light transport that is just landing and says "That's the one, the Morning Song". Jihahna notices that another medium transport has just landed a two duros are walking down an cargo ramp talking in their native tongue. A couple of other figures emerge also, one a human in simple robes and a couple of merchant types (dressed in fine business attire).

When the Morning Song lands Vivian starts moving towards it and when three beings (a Human a Twe'lek and a Gand) disembark she raises her hand to get their attentions...

===

Meanwhile, Reks Seviir, a young Jedi padawan of the Order has just arrive planetside on a medium space tramp called the Kodin Koressin. His master was dealing with some delicate negotiations on another planet, but had felt a slight tremor in the Force and had sent his young student to seek answers here. Doing a bit of research Reks had learned a bit about the troubles here and had just gathered his meager possessions and readied himself disembarking the ship.

But as he did so he felt something... a ripple in the Force as if a great sleeping darkness was stirring in a dream (or nightmare). Something was wrong here... his master had been correct in sending someone to investigate whatever it was. Striding down the ramp the chill of the jungle morning makes him glad for his robes and cloak.

There are other ship at the spaceport and one other appears to be unloading some passengers while others are loading or unloading cargo. Reks looks around trying to locate the exit through the protective wall that surrounds the port...

===

The next morning the team on the Morning Song feel the ship enter the atmosphere, and the captain announces ten minutes later that "And we have landed" with a solid bump as the ship touches down. "All a shore that are going ashore" he says as the back ramp starts lowering down.

Stepping out of the ship the team sees a thick mist or fog clinging stubbornly to the ground and a damp chill is in the air. There are half a dozen other transports spread around the spaceport with a number of beings loading or unloading three of these vessels. A large protective wall encircles the spaceport so no one can see the city proper or the planet itself from here. At one other ship a number of beings are disembarking, two look like businessmen but one looks like a simple traveler. There are two females, a togruta and a human, walking towards the Morning Song. The togruta raises her hand to get the teams attention.

GM: Everyone is more or less arriving at the same time and place now. Note that Cal and this Gand are going to notice that the simple human traveler disembarking from one of the other ships is carrying a pair of lightsabers on his belt!! (Passive Perception 19 and all). They are also notice that there are at least a score of beings unloading cargo from the ship docked next to the Morning Song, but that they seem to be watching who gets off your ship more then they are working. A couple try and adjust want look like short sticks or rods that they are carrying in their pockets and they nod and mutter softly too each other. They are also dressed more like miners then spaceport crew.

I will leave it up to you want you all wish to do next...

Jihanah watched the aqualish walk off as she listened to Vivian speak. "For someone barely literate, he chose his words FAR too carefully to be just a disgruntled miner."

Jihahna glanced sideways at the woman. "He was sent here by Czerka, without a doubt, with clear instructions on what to say without stepping beyond legal boundaries. What he labelled a warning, was really a threat, though legally, he said nothing wrong. You and your people need to keep blasters on you at all times, set to stun. Take whatever precautions you would assuming you were going to be attacked any time from now."

As they move past the droid and the office she looks around at its defensibility. As the two slow their pace again, she turns and whispers to Vivian again. "Don't get paranoid, but if these guys like to fight dirty and they do try and get rid of you, I would be wary of them trying to initiate some sort of betrayal from within. Talk to your men later. If Czerka are anything like a cartel, they'll try to bribe or threaten one of you into sabotage, I can assure you that anyone who plays along with that will be blamed, killed or framed afterwards. Just be wary."

Jihahna follows Vivian in and completes the paperwork necessary for her contract. She asks her leave afterward in order to purchase the tools she wants before returning, where she asks the human male if he would bring her up to speed with the GE3 unit.

Afterwards, she moved to her room upstairs where she opened up her new tool kit and began familiarising herself with it. Only then, did she go to sleep. Ready to meet the others the following day.

When she awoke, she gladly followed Vivian out, again with her rifle set to stun by default, but slumped over her shoulder rather than out and ready. As she saw the others who had arrived, she politely stood back a moment, waiting for her employer to make introductions.

[sblock=Mechanical]-250 credits in exchange for a splicer tool kit[/sblock]

The human, Arcanii Vor'in, says that he has been working to upgraded GE3-T3 ("Thirteen" for short) translator unit to level 3 to make sure it can understand the native Kwi's tongue. He is pretty sure that he has but is fine with Jihahna double checking his work (this is an Tools/Electronic check though to make sure the programming is correct).

The next morning Jihahna is glad to see Vivian with a holstered blaster pistol at her hip when they head out.

After disembarking from the ship, and feeling a strange disturbance in the force, Reks thought it best to be on his way swiftly. He heads to the nearest Cantina to see what he might learn from the people there.

As the pair of women are making their way toward the Morning Song, Raks heads for the exist when six beings block his way. They are all dressed like miners and carrying big wrenches and other heavy looking tools. An aqualish takes an extra step closer and says in broken basic "Republic you are Jedi, want you here we do not. Business not your own this is. Republic interference we need not. Back to ship should you go..."

While hostile, they don't look like they are going to try and kill the young padawan... just rough him up a bit.

With a stern look Reks says "I think not, and your... 'warm' welcome does naught but to make me more suspicious." Not giving any ground Reks places his hands on his lightsaber hilts, ready to draw but not looking too threatening.

GM: Reks can make a Charisma (Intimidate) check if he wish to try and get them to back down. But I am going to wait a bit for the other team to act to update what happens...
