[IC] The Odd Job

The night is uneventful fogir the group in the hut. For Galdar the night is slightly more eventful as he is occasionally awoken by things exploding behind him.

The group wake up mid morning about 9am, the day is slightly over cast but still warm. The scene is completely different from the night people are going about their business, the tavern has even been re-assembled and there is no sign of the crazy experiments from before.

Hrgach stretched as he awoke. He grabbed his gear and slipped on his chainmail before heading outside the hut to take a piss. “Got a big oven in there. Why don’t one of you females make yourself useful and make breakfast?” he called back into the hut as he watered the side of it.

As Hrgach begins to urinate on the hut it rears up on its rather large chicken legs and gives the hobgoblin a rather venomous look... with its... windows.

"If you want a warm meal, male person, you can shove your head up your a _ _ and eat sh _ _." Ana tells Hrgack as he leaves. As the hut rears, Ana steps outside and laughs. "Did I say male person? I meant male animal as I guess this is how you try to mark your territory? Pi _ _ on a tree next time. It ain't your hut."

Shouting can be heard coming from the village in the center of the town a crowd is gathering around Balin who appears to be stood on several crates for height"I think it is obvious now that our Lord will do nothing to protect us from this beast, in fact has anyone seen him since this ordeal began? The beast has been absent for two nights now, it will no doubt return tonight!" Balin pauses to let the gasps and shrieks from the crowd settle down."I know I am not my farther but, I am VonHelsung all the same I have been browsing through his books and I am confident I can fell the beast this very day. I trust I can count on the guards help Thomas" the halfling looks directly at a middle aged man standing in the crowd wearing splintmail and armed with a Pike he is leaning on. The man called Thomas responds"The guard will remain here, were only 4men and we must guard the town"
Balin looks a bord despondent by this remark, clearly not wanting to face what is out there alone.

The alchemist goaded the boy, "You're ready, you should help them. I'm too old, but you're young and talented, you can use your talents to heal their injuries and keep the beast at bay."

His master's prodding boosted his ego, but still he remained quiet, "You really think I'm ready?" He looked to his master to see if he was being serious, his master doing his best to seem sincere.

Before Ben was able to volunteer himself, "Take my apprentice, he can treat your injuries should you come to harm!" His master shoved him forward. Too much in the lime-light now, his ego blown out of proportion, he couldn't back down. He would face the beast with whoever went after it. His entire body trembled, both in fear and anticipation. This was his chance to prove his worth, to begin proving that he had surpassed his master... It was also his chance to be shredded to pieces, but somehow the thought of being torn apart wasn't an entirely negative one.

"Let me go get my gear," then he took off towards his quarters. All young men were trained to serve in the local militia, and he had been somewhat equipped, a few basic weapons and some armor. His precious Alchemist's Satchel and the bag he made which was larger on the inside than the outside. When he returned a few minutes later, he still didn't look quite ready for a battle, he looked rather ill-put together in his armor and such, but he felt ready, at least as ready as one could to face something out of their nightmares.

"Glory don't feed you." Ana calls out. "Glory don't cloth you. Nor does glory put a roof over your head. That means Glory is totally useless. How about gold? Gold can do all those things glory can''t. Is there any gold in helping out?"
