D&D 5E (IC) Vault of the Dracolich (River Gang)

initiative edit

OOC: That green crystalline grown... that wasn't roppers was it?

OOC2: Since Mord has told him "on your mark" Udit is assuming he has a few moments to set up "juuuuust right", he he's starting the fight

initiative in the mine: 1D20+3 = [11]+3 = 14

Edit: With the initiative bonus that should be a 16, in case it matters

Udit carefully drew Stapper and Slasher and carefully leaned them against the wall. He waived to SnorLoska and Auraia to come closer. He told Mord "can you do that mind trick to let those know we aren't their foe?" He then took a knee, knocked an arrow and let it fly.

arrow shot vs woman in robe (not sure if advantage, the first is real one if not): 1D20+6 = [12]+6 = 18
1D20+6 = [12]+6 = 18

(OOC3: well I guess that advantage question is moot for Udit...)

The arrow hit the robed cultist in the shoulder

sneak attack vs woman in robe with arrow: 1D6+3+3D6 = [1]+3+[4, 2, 3] = 13

Udit then snatched his swords and dashed forward, keeping low and close to the wall, to pressure the crossbowmen, to N9. He sure hoped the others were following...

OOC: I was thinking the same.
Since I have a low initiative I maybe could change my mind… but I would still throw dart because I wouldn't reach anyone in one move.

OOC:
Don't forget everyone around Auraia gets +2 to initiative.

Aquaria initiative: [roll0]
Auraia initiative: [roll1]

Deciding to go with the KISS method, Auraia fires a bolt from her crossbow at the nearest enemy, and Aquaria thrusts her mind into one of them, giving them a splitting headache.

OOC: Auraia: crossbow: Attack: [roll0] Damage: [roll1]

Aquaria: Mind Thrust: DC 11 Int Save or take [roll2] psychic damage. [/roll]

OOC: You don't get automatic advantage during surprise.
If you're surprised, you can't move or take an action on your first turn of the combat, and you can't take a reaction until that turn ends. A member of a group can be surprised even if the other members aren't.

OOC: But you do get it for being hidden before you attack.

OOC: So we need to do a Stealth check to see if we're hidden? Or are we considered hidden because we're out of line of sight?
I guess [MENTION=59816]FitzTheRuke[/MENTION] can give us the answer.

OOC: You do need to beat their passive perception with a stealth check to get advantage. You also need to be in a place where you have cover at the time you attack. Udit has advantage here, for example. Pretty much everyone else has to rush out to attack, so it's not worth bothering with it. Speaking of Udit: because everyone is going on his mark, and he has plenty of time to chose when that is, I will ignore his Init roll and just put him first.
