D&D 5E (IC) Vault of the Dracolich (River Gang)

[-]SnorLoska takes his time to grab a couple of darts to throw at the wizard. He moves up, throws the dart swears a bit when the darts seem to miss the target and then steps back behind cover.[/-]
Seeing that Udit rushes forward, SnorLoska changes his mind about hanging back. Instead, he rushes forward, shield up and darts ready. He then throws the darts in quick succession at the robed woman.
SnorLoska swears and get really angry when it seems that the darts misses the target. SnorLoska readies himself for close combat by drawing his sword.

OOC: Initiative: 1D20+2 = [7]+2 = 9+2=11 (+2 from Auroria, edit)
Dart attacks on wizard, and damages: 1D20+7 = [6]+7 = 13, 1D4+4 = [4]+4 = 8
1D20+7 = [5]+7 = 12, 1D4+4 = [3]+4 = 7

Hmmm, long distance. SnorLoska have to throw with disadvantage. Disadvantage dart attacks on wizard: 1D20+7 = [7]+7 = 14
1D20+7 = [5]+7 = 12
. LOL, Looks like the first rolls were the worst!
Edit: Raging (last rage) add +2 to damage if the attacks hit.
AC is 17
HP: have to check

OOC: Edit: Change of heart. SnorLoska didn't want to appear to be a coward.

HP: 32/55

Location: Cavern of the Elven Vessel

Encounter: Zalena, Guards, & Troglodytes

Round One

Dunmire was faced with something of a crisis. On the one hand, he had agreed to work with the River Gang, but on the other hand, he knew these people they were ambushing. It was one thing to fight along side them against lizardfolk, stirges, and the dracolich, but another thing against people he'd
travelled with, played cards with, and shared a meal with.

Dunmire was no sentimentalist, and he was pragmatic. He knew he didn't have much choice but to work with these people. They were determined to win, and it would be a mistake to get in their way. He snuck over to the wall next to Mordwho had fired his creepy magical bolts around the corner after Udit had begun the assault with some bowfire, followed by rushing around the corner with his strange swords.

Tentatively he said to Mord (who he feared more than anyone else in the River Gang, "Is it okay if I sit this one out? I won't get in your way, but I don't want to be involved. These are people I know. Uh, watch out for Zalena, she's a pretty powerful wizard. She might know stuff - maybe you could keep her alive?"

Around the corner, the River Gang had the drop on the work crew and it's guards. The troglodytes dropped their picks and shovels and looked around blinking. They smelled terrible, but otherwise gave no offense. Dispite having loaded crossbows at the ready, only one managed to fire. Another used his as a shield as he drew his sword in preparation of fighting Udit. The last one died before he could do a thing; his brian turned to mush from Aquaria's psychic assault.

The wizard, who Dunmire called Zalena, was shot by Udit's arrow and battered by Mord's spells, though she managed to duck to the side and avoid SnorLoska's darts. She struggled to get her wand out in time to mount a proper defense.

GM: Yeah, Mord had advantage from being hidden as well as Udit. No wonder you all wanted advantage with rolls like that!

Auraia fires a crossbow bolt at a guard, then winks at Aquaria and vanishes, appearing behind the wizard.

"Give up now, and you'll live through the night," she says to the wizard.

Auraia sent a mental Blast at the next guard in line.

OOC:
Auraia:
Action: Crossbow on guard. Attack: [roll0] Damage [roll1]
Bonus Action: teleport behind Wizard. 1psi point per 20 feet, so at least 3, if not 4.

Can't bring up my psi blades and teleport, so she'll do that next round if the wizard doesn't give up. If attacked, 2 points grants +4 AC and a 10 foot teleport.

Auraia hits another guard with .Mind Thrust. DC 11 Int Save or take [roll2] psychic damage.

Mord looks back at Dunmire for a moment with a small frown. He nods slightly to the human. "Stay out of the way then. We shall see about the other."

With that he turned his wand on the guards aiming for the injured one first. This time he applied his hex manic before firing. Raising his voice over the sounds of battle he called out for the group to hear. "Dunmire says the woman may have useful information, lets see if we can take her alive."

OOC: I will have to confirm (bit pressed for time), but I think Udit took a few HP less damage due to Uncanny Dodge...

Udit frowned - the guards were nothing. It was the wizardess - it was *always* about the mage. His frown turned into a fierce smiled when Auraia appeared behind her.

Udit trusted at the guard but it was but a feint, and was already gone before the guard could retaliate (cunning action to disengage). He charged towards the mage, blade held high as if he was about to stab her in the face... but went low and slashed at her knee instead

OOC2: This is meant to be a crippling, not killing blow

rush on the mage in the troglodyte room : 1D20+6 = [14]+6 = 20

Slash with slasher at mage knee: 1D6+3+3D6 = [4]+3+[4, 4, 6] = 21

OOC3: I used to be an adventurer like you but then I took a knife to the knee!

Still angry that he missed with both darts, SnorLoska charges up to the nearest guard and starts whacking him recklessly.

OOC: SnorLoska has 40 ft speed (Barbarian Fast Movement) and would possible reach a little further into the cavern. (I really need to update the entrance in Rogue Gallery!)
Unless guards give up with the death of the wizard, SnorLoska will...
Move: Run up to nearest guard still standing
Action: Attack with longsword Longsword attack (reckless) and damage (rage): 2D20.HIGH(1)+7 = [2, 9]+7 = 16, 1D8+2+4 = [4]+2+4 = 10
2D20.HIGH(1)+7 = [13, 9]+7 = 20, 1D8+2+4 = [2]+2+4 = 8

Raging
Ac: 17
HP: 28/55 (not 32, I forgot Auroria's wind attack)
Rage used: 3/3
Relentless Endurance used: 1/1

OOC: On post 446 Udit took 6 points of damage. On post 447, I used the rogue ability to use a reaction to reduce an attack by half (so 3 damage). On post 460, this was missed and the total damage was registerd as 10 instead of 7. Ergo, Udit is missing 7 hp right now, not 10. This rogue ability is well, how Udit can tank a little so it's important :P

OOC: I started working on a full write-up and I realised there was no point. This is over.

The Troglodytes nod and chatter in their guttural language, impressed by a very effective ambush as the two remaining guards die before they can mount any kind of real defence, and the wizard lies on the ground, in far too much pain to cast spells.

Dunmire came out from hiding and walked toward the wizard, "Sorry about this, Zee, but if you know what's good for you, you'll do whatever these guys ask. They're no joke; the killed the Dracolich. Or the fake dracolich, anyway."

"Yes... That would be best..."

Mord stopped to look down at the woman for a moment before stooping to inspect the small collection of items.

"It seems you've been busy here. Tell us what you know and perhaps we'll set you free. Once we've accomplished our mission here..."
