Drako stared at the Dracolich and fought the sudden urge to soil himself. As Kuzon charged the beast Drako started to shout, “Are you insa . . .,” before he stopped and fired two blasts of force at the beast, before backing away slowly.

Kurzon, Udit, & Drako

The Dracolich moved to follow Pyrus, but suddenly Kurzon appeared as if out of nowhere and slammed into the Dracolich with his sword. It was like hitting solid stone and there was no discernible effect. Likewise, Udit's arrows careened off of the dragon's bones, splintering into shards.

The dragon tried twice to step on Kurzon and drive the paladin into the ground. The first time, Kurzon rolled to the side, barely grazed. The second, he blocked with his shield, straining with the great effort. Then the dragon's enormous head snaked down at him and lifted him in it's terrible jaws. It shook him like a cat would with it's prey and dropped him on the ground for dead, but the determined paladin would not die and Kurzon rose to his feet. There was fight in him still, in spite of the great red tooth-holes.

Then Draco fired two bolts of force which scored along the Dracolich's brow-ridge, leaving small cracks and a shower of small stones. It was possible to hurt the creature after all...

Torbin had merely thought himself prepared to fight. The Sudden appearance of the dracolich disabused him of that belief for a few precious moments. Kurzon had just been mauled for his delay. Or perhaps he would have been regardless.

But shaking it off, he set to his work. Drawing his bow taught, he laid down his mark and then struck with a pair of arrows, hoping to do some real damage to the creature.

Torbin

All this time, Torbin had been breaking arrows over the dracolich's bones. He was making some chips here-and-there, but he could tell that his arrows were not doing as much damage as he could hope for.

The mercenary known as LockJaw whistled to his fiery wolf skeletons, and they ran under the dracolich's legs, rushing past Kurzon (out of his reach) and they began to jump down the stairs to the prison.

The mercenary himself, fired his heavy crossbow at Kurzon, but in trying to avoid shooting the dracolich (he wouldn't want to direct it's anger at himself!), the quarrel clattered along the ground.

GM: Bad news for Kurzon is that one can move through allies' spaces. Good news is, most of the bad guys are scared to do it. They can shoot at him through the dracolich, too, and more of them will, but he gets cover.

The roar of the dragon was very frightening but Sesto prayed to Lathander to keep him and his friends safe. Small angels sprung forward and flitted around Sesto and would attack anything that approached him. Get back down here and get cover! Let the dragon come to us, he shouted as he could see the burnt remains of the wolfs darting forward.

OOC: Action: Cast Spirit Guardians. DC15 Wis save for half damage. 3d8 damage to creatures that first enters the area or starts their turn in it (15 ft radius, concentration, 10 min). DM can roll damage when creatures enter the area.
Move 15 ft up the stairs to let the angels attempt to reach the fire wolfs (but, obviously, stay out of reach himself), and then back down again to the starting spot.

OOC: Can Auraia see the Beast? If so, she can attempt to swap places with him, putting him in the middle of an entire party waiting to kill him. Or use him as a bargaining chip, if the dragon will listen to that and not just eat him. It'll also put Auraia behind the dragon where she can go to town against the baddies. What do y'all think?

At the moment, Bardaby is two rooms away from her, so she can't see him. Also, he's a paid mercenary. The dragon does not give a **** about him. Even so, it's an interesting idea, if you think she can survive on her own against quite a few bad guys. I dunno, she might be able to, but I kind of doubt it.

Sesto

Sesto summoned Lathanders angels and prepared to have them receive the skeletal wolves as the undead clattered down the stairs. The angels glowed brightly with holy light, bringing an other-worldly feeling to the stairs and the creatures on it.

Another mercenary fired a crossbow at Kurzon through the dracolich's skeleton, but the quarrel didn't come even close to hitting the half-orc.

GM: The angels only deal damage when the enemy comes to them (or starts a turn in their area), but not when they go to the enemy. Sesto's gotta stay in the way for the angels to work.

Just Auraia to go.

Auraia activates her innate levitation abilities, and rises to the ceiling, out of site of her enemies, waiting to drop on them from above.
