If Paizo had gone 4E ...

No, I wouldn't.

Sadly, I no longer have time these days to convert adventures

This.

And I'm a BIIIIIIIG fan of Paizo's. But if they went 4e I wouldnt follow them.
I have enough of their material to probably run games for a couple of years. But if they had gone 4E I would have unsubscribed from their Pathfinder Adventure Path at the end of their 3.5 run.

Or...

Dear Gamer, ;)

Of course there are always diehards like myself, who would buy it either way, but with the potential relaxation of the GSL in the next few months, it seems like a timely question.

I would buy Pathfinder either way. It's great fun and great flavor. I would prefer they go 4e, especially if the GSL relaxes (at least they admitted it needed work!). However, if they stick with their Pathfinder rules, then I would still play.

The other scenario, if the revised GSL allows for it, would be dual-stat books, which would be heavenly.

I currently get the Adventure Paths, the Companion, and the Chronicles series and I doubt I'm going to Pathfinder. I'm also not sure if I'm going to 4E. I just really like their work and they are fun reads. Great writers, editors, world-builders and fellow 'Hawkers deserve my money.

My first instinct is "If they went 4E, I would not follow them."

But ... If Paizo and a few others all went solidly toward 4E, AND WotC got their stuff together regarding electronic support, AND a creative 3PP can find a way to strip off some of the stuff I don't like about 4E while keeping what I do like ... that's the kind of momentum that might start me drifting 4E's way, in time.

I never collected them prior. I unfortunately was taking a break from D&D around the time they started to really come into their own, so I missed out. I back in the game with 4e now, so still not playing a compatible game unfortunately.

I've downloaded some of their freebies, and looked over their products and I have to say that I am much more into the general look of their layout and art than 4e. The multi-cultural look is awesome, and the cool factor is way up there. I'm really picky about which third party houses I buy from, but Paizo would be at the top of my list if all that awesome were diverted to 4e. Not that I don't think the 3.5e folks don't deserve some high quality developers too. Everyone should be having fun! I'm just hoping a revised GSL might win us back a couple. :(

Wow. Couldn't've said it better myself.

Except maybe I'd add Mac support. <insert sound of can of worms opening>

Sshhhh! All you 4E'ers be quiet. Paizo might hear you and ruin a good thing for us 3E'ers.:p
Or... we could persuade them of injecting caffeine intravenously into the Paizo staff, so they can churn out stuff for BOTH of us! :D

I really hope something like that happens. While I like and play 4E, 3E (and hence 3.5E and Pathfinder) will always have a special place in my gaming heart, so I'm very glad to see it supported! :)

Cheers, LT.
