If Paizo had gone 4E ...

Yeah, I seriously like Golarian (or whatever it's called), but my group is going 4E and so I don't see a future there. It's a shame, really. They make the best adventures.

I'm a 4oron and I've bought a fair number of Paizo adventures recently. It's no big deal to me whether they have 3e or 4e stat blocks, it's very easy to convert.

I play rather than DM so there isn't as much on Paizo's product list for me. My only real experience with their output is playing through Age of Worms: if Paizo had gone to 4e I'd worry that I'd have to go through a similar experience.

I think that even if the GSL was changed into a 4e OGL, Paizo would still stick with Pathfinder RPG. Not because I think it is good, but simply because there are always some percentage of gamers that stick with the old edition, no matter what, and having those buy most of your products beats having a lot more gamers buy some adventures here and there. It's just where the money is, for Paizo.

Very true.

I think Paizo has proven (to date) that there is a viable market of gamers who are interested in playing 3E and buying from those companies who support their hobby. In addition they don't have to worry about what the 800 lb gorilla in the corner is going to do with their system.

As others have said, if Paizo switched to 4E, I'd cancel my subscription and limit my purchases to those that could easily convert to 3E. Hopefully this is not a situation I'll have to face anytime soon.

I've been dming the Rise of Runelords and we have switched it to 4e and it runs pretty well so far (5th module). My group is still on the fence with editions (testing a bit, but the summer is tough) but paizo 4e would switch us over fully.

Dear system X player, do you realize that Piazo makes many system neutral products like battle matts and tiles that are useful for any fantasy setting? Do you realize that Piazo makes many miniatures and that they have teamed up with Crocodile Games to bring even more awesomeness to your table top regardless of your game?

Dear 3.X Player,

If Paizo had gone 4E, would you be buying their material?

Of course there are always diehards like myself, who would buy it either way, but with the potential relaxation of the GSL in the next few months, it seems like a timely question.

Not a chance in hell.
The GSL means nothing to me, even if it were relaxed enough to allow 3PPs to do anything they want. I dont like the fluff or crunch of 4E at all, and I wont support it regardless of losing out on great stuff from Necro, Goodman etc.
